Roles & Responsibilities :

THIS POSITION IS STRICTLY FOR CANDIDATES WITH HANDSON EXPERIENCE IN PTC CREO AND WINDCHILL.

Beginners or trainees should NOT apply.

METALEX designs and manufactures industrial compressors and precision engineering components.

The role requires deep expertise in designing rotating and reciprocating components such as crankshafts, connecting rods, pistons, impellers, and other highstress mechanical parts.

Core Design Responsibilities :

- Design engineering components including gears, bushes, crankcases, crankshafts, impellers, and other compressor parts using PTC Creo (3D & 2D).
- Develop highquality models for industrial products, fixtures, patterns, and molds.
- Ensure designs meet targets for feasibility, manufacturability, performance, cost, quality, and safety.
- Apply strong understanding of castings, forgings, alloys, and their influence on strength, hardness, and physical properties.
- Work with ASME & TEMA standards; demonstrate knowledge of welding methods and weld representation in Creo.
- Independently coordinate with manufacturing teams, vendors, and clients to gather design inputs and resolve issues.
- Update, maintain, and manage product design files in Windchill.
- Train and guide Production Engineers on engineered designs and drawing interpretation.
- Identify limitations, assumptions, and solutions during the design and development of Creo models.
- Support implementation and optimization of Creo engineering applications within the organization.

Advanced Creo Expertise (Mandatory): Creo Modeling & Assembly Skills

- Robust command over:

- Family Tables

- Skeleton Models (topdown design)

- Interchange Assemblies

- Flexible Components
- Mechanism Design for motion studies of crankrod assemblies.
- Ability to create complex surface models for impellers, volutes, and aerodynamic shapes using:

- ISDX / Style
- Boundary Blends, Sweeps, Variable Section Sweeps
- Advanced Surfacing & Freestyle tools.




- Expertise in GD&T; using Creo GD&T; Advisor with full ASME Y14.5 compliance.
- Ability to generate Weld Features, Weld Symbols, and Weld Representation directly in Creo.
- Experience designing casting and forging models with:

- Shrinkage allowances

- Draft analysis

- Parting line definition

- Machining allowances
- Ability to design fixtures, jigs, and patterns using:

- UserDefined Features (UDFs)

- Mapkeys for workflow automation
- Layer management and clean Model Tree organization
- Proficiency in Interference Checks, Mass Property Analysis, and Tolerance Stackups within Creo.

Windchill Expertise (Mandatory)

- Handson experience with:
- Checkin / Checkout, Versioning, Revisions, Lifecycle States
- WTParts, CAD Documents, BOM Management

- ECN/ECO Change Management workflows
- Ability to maintain clean data structure, naming conventions, and metadata discipline.

ManufacturingFocused Design Knowledge

- Ability to design components considering:

- Machining constraints

- Forging flow lines
- Casting defects and gating considerations
- Experience preparing detailed manufacturing drawings with:
- Sectional, auxiliary, and broken views
- Surface finish symbols, heat treatment notes, material specifications
- Familiarity with Creo ModelCHECK for model validation.

Bonus Skills (Preferred)

- Experience with Creo Simulate (stress, modal, fatigue analysis).
- Ability to create Exploded Views and Animation Sequences for assembly instructions.
- Knowledge of Creo MBD (ModelBased Definition).

Required Candidate Profile

- Minimum 4 years of handson experience in mechanical design using PTC Creo.
- Strong experience designing industrial machinery components such as compressors, pumps, motors, or similar rotating equipment.
- Ability to independently handle complex modeling, assemblies, detailing, and manufacturingready drawings.
- Strong understanding of materials (castings, forgings, alloys) and industrial design standards.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with crossfunctional teams.
