Role Description The Counter Sales role is a full-time, on-site position based at The Shalimar Hotel in Mumbai. This role involves greeting guests and visitors at the counter, understanding their requirements, and providing information on hotel services, room options, and promotions.

The Counter

Sales team member will process reservations and payments, handle inquiries and follow-ups, and support upselling of rooms, packages, and F&B; offerings. Daily tasks include maintaining accurate records, coordinating with front office and other departments, and ensuring a skilled and courteous experience for all guests.



The role also includes participating in sales initiatives and basic reporting to support overall revenue goals.

Qualifications

- Strong Communication skills, including clear spoken and written English; additional local languages are an advantage.
- Proven Customer Service capabilities, with a courteous, patient, and solution-oriented approach to guest interactions.
- Sales and basic Sales Management skills to support upselling, cross-selling, and achieving counter sales targets.
- Experience in Training or willingness to participate in ongoing training to stay updated on hotel services and sales techniques.
- Previous experience in hotel front office, retail, or hospitality sales preferred.
- Comfort with basic computer systems, reservation software, and POS tools.
- Ability to work on a rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays, as required.
- Minimum educational qualification: high school diploma; a degree or certification in hospitality or business is an advantage.
