Role Description

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced EPIC Integration Consultant to support the design and implementation of a healthcare payments solution focused on Provider-to-Patient payments/refunds and Accounts Payable workflows.

The consultant will work closely with product, engineering, and business teams to provide hands-on EPIC expertise, define appropriate integration approaches, and support implementation using EPIC Toolkit and FHIR R4 APIs.

Key Responsibilities





- Provide functional and technical consultation on EPIC products, workflows, and integration capabilities.
- Design and validate integration flows for Provider-to-Patient payments, refunds/disbursements, and Accounts Payable use cases.
- Work hands-on with EPIC Toolkit APIs and FHIR R4 APIs for data exchange and workflow integration.
- Identify appropriate EPIC APIs/resources for accessing patient, guarantor, billing, payment, claim/EOB, and financial information.
- Define API mappings, integration specifications, authentication requirements, and data flows between EPIC and external payment platforms.
- Support payment status and reconciliation write-back into EPIC where applicable.
- Guide the engineering team on EPIC integration best practices, constraints, and implementation considerations.
- Support troubleshooting, testing, and validation of EPIC integrations across different environments.
- Collaborate with product and business teams to translate healthcare payment requirements into EPIC-compatible solution designs.

Technical Skills

Required Experience

- Strong hands-on experience working with EPIC integrations and EPIC products.
- Practical experience with EPIC Toolkit APIs and FHIR R4 APIs.
- Good understanding of EPIC patient billing, payment, refund, Accounts Payable, and financial workflows.
- Experience integrating EPIC with external healthcare, payment, or financial platforms.
- Understanding of healthcare interoperability standards, including FHIR R4 and REST APIs.
- Ability to interpret EPIC API documentation and recommend the right APIs/resources for specific business use cases.
- Strong understanding of healthcare data, security, and integration consideration
