About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Planning Engineer to manage project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and progress reporting for our construction projects. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Primavera P6 and a good understanding of residential and commercial construction activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using *Primavera P6
- Prepare project baseline schedules, activity sequences, durations, milestones, and critical paths.
- Monitor actual progress against planned schedules and identify delays or deviations.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Contractors, Consultants, and other departments to collect progress updates.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and management reports.
- Track project milestones, critical activities, manpower, materials, and resource requirements.
- Conduct schedule analysis and delay analysis and highlight potential risks to project completion.
- Prepare recovery plans and revised schedules whenever projects fall behind schedule.
- Maintain project documentation related to planning, progress, and scheduling.
- Prepare 2-week/4-week look-ahead schedules for site execution teams.
- Monitor subcontractor schedules and ensure alignment with the overall project programme.
- Assist in forecasting project completion dates and identifying schedule risks.
- Coordinate with procurement and construction teams to ensure activities are planned according to material availability and site requirements.
- Prepare S-curves, progress curves, planned vs. actual reports, and other planning-related MIS.
- Support project management in decision-making through accurate planning and progress data.
- Ensure schedules are regularly updated and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's/Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 37 years of experience in construction project planning.
- Strong hands-on experience in Primavera P6 is mandatory.
- Good knowledge of construction sequences and project execution.
- Experience in preparing baseline programmes and monitoring project progress.
- Knowledge of MS Excel and project reporting.
- Understanding of critical path, float, WBS, resource planning, S-curves, and schedule analysis.
- Valuable coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work with multiple teams and manage project deadlines.
- Experience in residential high-rise / commercial construction will be an advantage.
Preferred Candidate The ideal candidate should be able to independently handle project planning from project commencement through completion, coordinate effectively with site teams, and provide management with clear and accurate information on project progress, delays, and upcoming activities.
Key Requirement: Strong practical experience in Primavera P6, not just theoretical knowledge.
