About the Role The Conflicts & Intake Analyst owns the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of legal conflict checks and business-intake records for new clients, matters, and existing engagements. The role uses conflicts databases, Boolean search techniques, structured review, and stakeholder follow-up to identify related parties, clarify discrepancies, and support ethical risk decisions. Reporting to the Team Manager, you will work with attorneys and business representatives to vet incoming requests, update matter records, and prepare clear reports for review and approval.

Your work will protect the firm from conflicts of interest, improve intake quality, and enable teams to pursue current business with confidence. This onsite Gurgaon role requires sound judgment, strong organization, and flexibility for scheduled after-hours, weekend, and rotational on-call coverage when business demands require it.

Key Responsibilities

- Run timely and accurate conflict searches for preliminary checks, formally submitted new business, new clients, and matters, using database research and Boolean techniques to surface relevant relationships.
- Own daily matter updates by adding new parties, maintaining conflict memos, and ensuring approved client and engagement information remains complete, current, and traceable.
- Vet all requests entering the department, including matter reopenings, new business for existing or new clients,



and preliminary checks, resolving missing or inconsistent information before review.
- Evaluate search results and discrepancies methodically, then consolidate findings into clear reports that help attorneys and business stakeholders assess conflicts and manage ethical risk.
- Liaise confidently with attorneys and business representatives by email, telephone, and in person to obtain, clarify, and validate information needed for client and matter intake.
- Prioritize urgent and competing requests in a time-sensitive environment, maintaining quality, responsiveness, and follow-through without compromising accuracy or compliance requirements.
- Support the integrity of the conflicts database by applying consistent data standards, documenting updates, and entering general client information after new business approval.
- Participate in scheduled after-hours or weekend projects and rotational remote on-call shifts to maintain dependable conflicts support across global teams and deadlines.

Essential Skills & Technologies

- Hands-on experience conducting legal conflict searches, business intake, and conflicts database reviews, with strong attention to detail, accuracy, documentation quality, and ethical risk awareness.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the confidence to engage attorneys and business stakeholders at different levels with clarity, professionalism, and customer-service orientation.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word, plus practical ability to use Boolean search operators and techniques for structured information retrieval.

Additional Plus

- Prior experience in a law firm, legal department, or professional-services environment where confidentiality, compliance, and rapid response were essential to daily operations.
- Direct experience with conflicts checking, related-party research, engagement databases, matter management, or legal business-intake workflows will help you contribute quickly.
- Familiarity with ABA mandates, conflicts-of-interest controls, and ethical risk management is advantageous for evaluating search results and escalating potential concerns appropriately.

What You'll Bring

- Four to six years of experience,



including at least three years in a legal, law-firm, or legal department environment, with conflicts checking or legal intake exposure preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, urgent requests, follow-ups, and time-sensitive deadlines while preserving thoroughness, quality, and data integrity.
- A methodical problem-solving approach that helps you investigate discrepancies, distinguish relevant relationships, and escalate issues with practical recommendations and complete supporting information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, enabling confident interaction with attorneys, business representatives, and colleagues through email, telephone, and in-person collaboration.
- Strong organization, ownership, and attention to detail, with the judgment to handle confidential information and the discipline to maintain reliable database records.
- A customer-service mindset and willingness to support scheduled after-hours or weekend work and rotational on-call coverage when global business needs require it.
- Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, Boolean search techniques, and structured database research, combined with genuine commitment to compliance and conflicts-of-interest controls.
