About SKEYEBOTS
SKEYEBOTS builds AI-driven autonomous systems for unmanned platforms operating across aerial, ground, and maritime environments — where perception failures are not an option.
We are a well-funded, rapidly scaling deep-tech organisation with engineering operations across India.
The Role
We're looking for a Computer Vision Engineer to design, implement, and optimise vision-based perception systems for autonomous robotic platforms. You'll work closely with our autonomy, controls, and UI teams to integrate CV pipelines with flight/robot control stacks and build the visual interfaces operators use to monitor them.
This is an immediate opening — candidates who are able to join right away will be prioritised.
What You'll Own
- Design and implement computer vision algorithms (object detection, tracking, SLAM, visual odometry, feature matching) for real-time robotic applications
- Integrate CV pipelines with ROS/ROS2-based systems, including sensor drivers, message pipelines, and custom nodes
- Work with the PX4 flight stack for UAV/drone autonomy — sensor fusion, state estimation, and vision-aided navigation
- Develop QML-based UI/HMI components for visualising detections, telemetry overlays, and operator dashboards
- Write performance-critical code in C++ and prototype/validate algorithms in Python
- Optimise CV pipelines for embedded/edge hardware (latency, memory, power constraints)
- Collaborate with hardware and controls teams on camera/sensor selection, calibration, and synchronisation
- Write unit/integration tests and maintain CI pipelines for perception modules
- Debug and troubleshoot in both simulated (Gazebo/SITL) and field environments
What We're Looking For
Required
- 2–3 years of qualified experience in computer vision or robotics perception
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Python
- Hands-on experience with ROS or ROS2 (nodes, topics, services, tf/tf2, launch files)
- Experience with PX4 (or comparable flight stack) — MAVLink, offboard control, or vision-based navigation a plus
- Solid understanding of computer vision fundamentals: camera models, calibration, feature detection, epipolar geometry, optical flow
- Experience with OpenCV and at least one deep learning framework (PyTorch or TensorFlow)
- Comfortable working in Linux development environments
- Version control proficiency with Git
Preferred
- Experience building UI components with QML/Qt
- Experience with SLAM frameworks (ORB-SLAM, VINS-Fusion, RTAB-Map)
- Experience with SITL/HITL simulation (Gazebo, jMAVSim)
- Multi-modal sensor fusion, including thermal/IR alongside RGB, depth, and LiDAR
- Familiarity with embedded/edge deployment (Jetson, NPUs, quantisation, TensorRT, ONNX)
- Experience with broader sensor fusion (IMU, GPS, stereo/depth cameras, LiDAR)
What You'll Get
- Competitive compensation + ESOP allocation
- Direct collaboration with autonomy, controls, and hardware teams on real deployed platforms
- Your work deploys into real, operational autonomous systems — not just simulation
- A fast track to greater ownership as the perception team scales
Location Bengaluru, Karnataka — hybrid, with travel as required.
