Position Overview The Computer Hardware & Networking Support Engineer will be responsible for installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, and networking infrastructure. The role demands strong technical knowledge of computer hardware, peripherals, and LAN/WAN setup. The candidate will also handle field work such as assembling systems, cable laying, drilling (if required), and client-side support with proper documentation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Computer Hardware Support

Installation and assembly of desktop computers and laptops.

Diagnosis and replacement of faulty hardware components (motherboards, RAM, SMPS, HDD/SSD, display, etc.).

Installation and configuration of operating systems (Windows/Linux).

Installation of applications, updates, and security patches.

Troubleshooting issues related to printers, scanners, and other peripherals.

2. Networking Installation & Support

Setup and configuration of LAN networks including routers, switches, and access points.

Cable laying, crimping, dressing, and labelling for structured networks.

Configuration of IP addresses, DHCP, DNS, and network sharing.

Troubleshooting LAN/WAN connectivity, internet, and bandwidth issues.

3. Preventive Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Routine maintenance of computers, printers, and network devices.

Virus/malware removal and data backup solutions.

Power supply and UPS checks to avoid hardware failure.

Quick resolution of hardware or connectivity failures at client site.

4. Installation & Field Work

Drill machine operation for LAN cable routing, wall mounting, and networking racks.

Neat and professional installation of cables, conduits, and IT hardware.

Rack installation for switches, routers,



and patch panels.

Ensuring proper earthing and power connections for systems.

5. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain detailed records of systems, IP allocations, and network diagrams.

Prepare daily/weekly service reports and call sheets.

Update inventory of hardware components and consumables.

Maintain client site documentation for hardware and network infrastructure.

6. Client Training & Support

Guide client staff on basic computer operations and network usage.

Provide training on troubleshooting common IT issues.

Support in data recovery, system backups, and IT security awareness.

7. Continuous Learning & Development

Attend training sessions for new hardware and networking technologies.

Stay updated with latest advancements in computer hardware and networking.

Participate in weekly review meetings and share client site updates.

Required Skills & Attributes

Strong knowledge of computer hardware (assembly, repair, and upgrades).

Hands-on experience with LAN/WAN installation and troubleshooting.

Skilled in drilling, mounting, cabling, and field-level installation work.

Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware/software/network issues quickly.

Good documentation and reporting skills.

Hardworking, field-ready, and client-oriented approach.

Willingness to travel for onsite support and installations.

Qualification & Experience

Minimum: ITI / Diploma in Computer Hardware, Electronics, or Networking.

Experience: 1–3 years in computer hardware & networking support.

Fresher’s with practical knowledge and strong technical skills may also apply.

Pay: ₹15,500.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
