Role Description As a Community Storytelling Volunteer at Whats Your Story, you will help gather and share impactful stories from individuals in the community. On a day-to-day basis, you may interact with storytellers in person, conduct informal interviews, assist them in shaping their narratives, and support the submission of stories through the designated online form.

You will contribute to organizing storytelling sessions or small gatherings, capturing key highlights, and encouraging participants to express themselves in a safe,



respectful environment. This is a volunteer, on-site role based in Bengaluru, and may involve occasional evening or weekend activities depending on community events.

Qualifications

- Strong interest in storytelling and community engagement, with the ability to listen empathetically and encourage others to share their experiences.
- Clear and respectful communication skills in English and/or local languages commonly spoken in Bengaluru.
- Ability to support basic story structuring (beginning, middle, end), and provide gentle guidance to storytellers without altering their authentic voice.
- Comfort interacting with diverse individuals and working in inclusive, non-judgmental spaces.
- Organizational skills to help coordinate small events, sessions, or meet-ups and manage straightforward logistics on-site.
- Reliability and willingness to commit to agreed volunteer hours in Bengaluru.
- Previous experience in community work, creative writing, social work, or arts/creative initiatives is beneficial but not required.
