COMMUNITY MANAGER – MEHICO

Brand: Mehico

ABOUT THE ROLE

Mehico is looking for a high-energy, well-connected Community Manager who understands Kolkata's social, corporate and nightlife crowd and can turn that network into regular guests, events and revenue .

This is not a traditional social-media or community-management role.

The person will be responsible for building the right community around Mehico, bringing people into the restaurant, curating commercially viable events and ensuring that every activation contributes to the business.

The ideal candidate should know where Kolkata's crowd is, who the key people are, what they like to do, and how to get them to Mehico.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Community Building

- Build and manage a strong Mehico community comprising:
- Young professionals
- Entrepreneurs
- Corporate professionals
- Creatives
- Influencers
- Social groups
- College/alumni communities
- Lifestyle communities
- Nightlife crowd
- Event organisers
- Develop strong relationships with key people who can influence guest traffic.
- Maintain an active guest and community database.
- Convert one-time visitors into regular Mehico guests.
- Build a community that identifies Mehico as a place to meet, celebrate and socialise .

1. Guest Acquisition

The primary objective is bringing people through the door .

- Personally develop relationships with potential guests and community leaders.
- Drive guest traffic through networking and direct outreach.
- Create guest lists for events and ensure strong attendance.
- Develop partnerships with relevant communities, companies, clubs and groups.
- Drive repeat visits through personalised engagement.
- Track the number and quality of guests generated through each initiative.

1. Event Curation

- Conceptualise and curate events that are relevant to Mehico's brand and target audience.
- Develop a monthly event calendar.
- Create recurring properties rather than one-off events.
- Examples may include:
- Ladies' nights
- DJ nights
- Latin nights
- Salsa/Bachata evenings
- Corporate socials
- Networking evenings
- Community meet-ups
- Themed parties
- Brand collaborations




- Influencer/community events
- Festive events
- Private parties
- Identify emerging trends and formats that can generate guest traffic.
- Work with the Operations, Bar, Kitchen and Marketing teams to execute events.

1. Commercial & Revenue Responsibility

Every event must have a commercial objective. The Community Manager will be responsible for ensuring that events are not conducted merely for visibility or social-media content.

For every event, the candidate should evaluate:

- Expected guest count
- Expected revenue
- Average spend per guest
- Food revenue
- Beverage revenue
- Event costs
- Artist/entertainment costs
- Marketing costs
- Complimentary/discount impact
- Contribution/profitability

The candidate must be able to answer: "How much business will this event generate, what will it cost us, and what will we actually make?"

1. Event P&L;

- Prepare event-level revenue and cost projections.
- Track actual revenue against projections.
- Ensure events meet agreed profitability thresholds.
- Negotiate with artists, performers, collaborators and vendors within approved budgets.
- Avoid unnecessary complimentary spends and excessive discounts.
- Conduct post-event profitability analysis.
- Identify which events should be repeated, modified or discontinued based on commercial performance.

1. Corporate & Group Business

- Build relationships with corporate organisations and HR/Admin teams.
- Generate corporate dinners, team outings, celebrations and networking events.
- Build relationships with event agencies and party planners.
- Develop group-booking opportunities.
- Create corporate packages in coordination with the management team.
- Develop recurring corporate business rather than only one-time bookings.

1. Partnerships & Collaborations

Identify and build partnerships with:
- Lifestyle brands
- Beverage brands
- Event companies
- DJs and artists




- Influencers
- Fitness/lifestyle communities
- Corporate groups
- Colleges and alumni groups
- Social clubs
- Travel and hospitality partners

Partnerships should have a clear objective such as guest acquisition, revenue generation, brand exposure or repeat business.

1. Guest Experience & Retention

- Be present at key events and personally engage with guests.
- Identify VIPs, influencers, regular guests and potential high-value customers.
- Maintain relationships after events.
- Encourage repeat visits and referrals.
- Capture guest feedback and identify opportunities to improve the experience.
- Build a strong database with guest preferences, occasions and engagement history.

IDEAL CANDIDATEExperience
- 3–6 years of experience in community management, events, nightlife, hospitality, lifestyle, entertainment or business development.
- Experience in restaurants, bars, clubs, premium F&B; or lifestyle brands is preferred.
- Strong understanding of the Kolkata social and nightlife ecosystem .

Must-Have The candidate should:
- Know Kolkata's crowd.
- Have an existing network or demonstrated ability to build one quickly.
- Be comfortable approaching people and building relationships.
- Have experience curating events.
- Understand what makes an event commercially successful.
- Be comfortable with sales and revenue targets.
- Understand basic P&L; and event profitability.
- Have strong negotiation skills.
- Be highly energetic and socially confident.
- Be hands-on and present at events.
- Be able to convert relationships into actual business.

IMPORTANT This is NOT a social-media-only Community Manager role.

We are looking for someone who can:

Build the community → Bring the guests → Curate the right events → Generate revenue → Control the costs → Make the events profitable.

The candidate will be expected to have a solid understanding of Kolkata's audience and social ecosystem and demonstrate how they can use their network and relationships to generate measurable business for Mehico.

COMPENSATION

Salary will be structured as Fixed + Performance Incentive , with the variable component linked to agreed business and profitability targets.
