We are looking for an experienced Cloud Migration Engineer with hands-on expertise in Azure Migrate, migration assessment and discovery, and large-scale on premises to cloud migrations. The candidate should have experience migrating workloads from on-premises VMware environments to Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
The candidate will be responsible for assessment, discovery, migration planning, wave management, migration execution, cutover, and post-migration hyper care.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and work hands-on with Azure Migrate.
- Perform assessment and discovery of on-premises infrastructure using Matilda and other discovery tools.
- Assess VMware/on-premises servers and applications for migration to Azure/AWS.
- Plan and manage migration waves for large-scale migrations.
- Have hands-on experience migrating 200300+ servers/applications.
- Execute migration cutover, validation, and post-migration hyper care.
- Create and configure Azure Landing Zones for migration workloads.
- Design and implement DR (Disaster Recovery) solutions.
- Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials) and migration-related documentation.
- Perform workload right-sizing and provide recommendations for target cloud infrastructure.
- Execute re-platforming activities where required.
- Perform Windows and Linux OS upgrades as part of migration projects.
- Coordinate migration activities across infrastructure, application, network, and cloud teams.
- Troubleshoot migration issues during cutover and hypercare.
- Ensure migration activities are executed according to defined migration waves, timelines, and technical requirements.
