About the Opportunity A large, well-reputed EPC client of RVN is currently seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to work out of their Chennai office. This role is responsible for providing engineering leadership, detailed design, interdisciplinary coordination, and technical assurance of civil and structural engineering activities for high-impact Oil & Gas and process plant projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Engineering & Design: Lead and execute civil and structural engineering design for RCC foundations (equipment, pipe racks, buildings) and structural steel (pipe racks, platforms, technological structures) as well as underground structures, paving, and drainage.
- Deliverables & Calculations: Prepare and check comprehensive design calculations, design bases, technical specifications, and engineering deliverables. Review and approve GA drawings, foundation drawings, steel layouts, and construction details.
- Interdisciplinary Coordination: Coordinate with Process, Piping, Mechanical, E&I;, and Geotechnical disciplines to manage interface requirements (piping/equipment loads). Support 3D model reviews and design review meetings.
- Standards & Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with international and project standards (AISC, ACI, API, IS, BS, Eurocode). Participate in HAZID/HAZOP reviews and resolve client or third-party audit comments.
- Technical Leadership: Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers. Review team deliverables and assist with project planning, progress monitoring, and man-hour control.
- Construction & Site Support: Provide engineering support during fabrication and construction,



responding to RFIs, site queries, and change requests.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Structural Engineering.
- Experience: 8–12 years of structural engineering experience, with a minimum of 3–5 years heavily focused within Oil & Gas, Refineries, LNG, or Petrochemical EPC projects.
- Core Software Tools: High proficiency in structural analysis software (STAAD / ETABS / SAFE) and AutoCAD. Experience interfacing with 3D models via SP3D, Tekla, or Navisworks.
- Technical Skills: Deep expertise in RCC Foundations and Structural Steel Design (pipe racks, platforms). Strong capability in handling GA/Foundation drawing reviews and design calculations.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Education: Master’s Degree (M.Tech / MS) in Structural Engineering.
- Sector Knowledge: Experience spanning diverse heavy industrial markets including Specialty Chemicals, Process Plants, Power, and Material Handling.
- Competencies: Strong understanding of the EPC project lifecycle, excellent client/PMC interaction capabilities, and a commitment to engineering quality and safety.
