Job Summary

Provides high-quality financial data preparation, reconciliations, variance analysis, and process consistency to support informed decision-making across Cultural Engagement. Ensures data integrity, maintains grant models and reporting systems, and delivers reliable financial insights, dashboards, and analysis as a central source of truth for CE finance.

Accountabilities

Data Quality Reconciliation Oversight

- Perform financial reconciliations across SAP, Anaplan, reporting templates, and programme datasets, ensuring accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability of data used for planning, forecasting, and reporting.
- Manage the Anaplan grant model, including ODA/non-ODA reporting requirements, while supporting cost and overhead allocations and resolving allocation anomalies.
- Identify data discrepancies, provide variance insights, and maintain robust documentation, audit trails, and version control to support governance and audit readiness.
- Collaborate with Business Decision Support partners to ensure alignment between data inputs and business reporting outputs, maintaining consistent standards, repositories, and financial information across CE.

Financial Data Preparation

- Prepare standardised financial data packs, extracts, and sector-level datasets, delivering variance analysis and trend insights to identify anomalies and emerging issues while supporting consistent, reliable reporting for business partners, Sector Heads of Finance, and the Head of Contract Finance.

Process Execution Standardisation Efficiency

- Execute standardised financial processes,



reporting frameworks, and data governance standards, ensuring consistent data structures, process compliance, and continuous improvement through identification of inefficiencies and enhancement opportunities.

Support to BDS Teams

- Provide reconciled and accurate datasets to support performance reviews, resolve data discrepancies with finance and systems teams, and respond promptly to business reporting and data requests.

Role specific knowledge and experience

Essential

- Significant experience in financial data analysis, FPA, management accounting or similar.
- Experience completing reconciliations and supporting monthly reporting cycles.
- Ability to work with complex financial datasets across multiple programmes or business units.
- Experience with Anaplan or similar EPM platforms.
- Capability in financial modelling, forecasting and analytics.

Desirable:
- Professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
- Track record of delivering accurate financial reporting and analysis to tight deadlines.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP platforms.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders in a matrix or multi-country organisational context.

Role specific skills:





- Data accuracy reconciliation skills - ability to identify errors and inconsistencies across multiple datasets.
- Process discipline - reliable execution of standardised processes, templates and workflows.
- EPM systems proficiency - strong working knowledge of Anaplan, and experience working with SAP and associated reporting tools.
- Attention to detail - consistently high levels of accuracy and completeness.
- Clear communication - able to summarise financial data simply for internal stakeholders.
- Time management - ability to prioritise across multiple programmes and reporting deadlines.

Language Requirements: The British Council systems and global processes operate in English. Written and verbal proficiency in English is required.
