About the Role

ISHAN WORLD is looking for a Business Analyst – ERP & Software Implementation who can act as a bridge between Management, business operations, ERP/software systems, developers, testing teams, and end users.

The role involves understanding business requirements, documenting processes, coordinating software and ERP implementation, supporting legacy system transition, conducting testing and UAT, assisting with data migration, preparing training material, and ensuring successful adoption of implemented solutions.

The ideal candidate should be able to:

Key Responsibilities1. Business Requirements & Process Management

- Conduct requirement discussions with Management and business users.
- Understand and document current and future business processes.
- Convert verbal or loosely structured ideas into clear business requirements.
- Identify gaps, contradictions, dependencies, missing decisions, and process improvements.
- Prepare and maintain requirement traceability from discussion to final acceptance.
- Support controlled changes and addendums when recent requirements are introduced.

2. Documentation & Professional Drafting
- Prepare BRDs, requirement documents, functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
- Prepare professional emails, meeting notes, action registers, SOPs, user guides, training material, and implementation checklists.
- Maintain configuration, change, issue, testing, UAT, migration, and release documentation.
- Ensure important project knowledge is properly documented and not dependent only on individual employees.

3. ERPNext / ERP Implementation
- Support ERPNext/Frappe implementation and configuration.
- Assist with Company, Legal Entity, Unit, Branch, Warehouse, User, Role, Workflow, and other master configurations.
- Support Purchase, Inventory, Sales, Finance, and HR-related ERP configuration and testing.
- Evaluate requirements and identify whether they should be handled through:
- Standard ERP functionality
- Configuration
- Extension
- Integration
- Custom development
- Migration
- Refactoring
- Retention or retirement
- Odoo or other ERP implementation experience will also be considered valuable.

4. Legacy FoxPro Software Management
- Understand existing FoxPro modules, users, screens, reports, masters, data dependencies, and operational processes.
- Coordinate with the existing FoxPro developer/service provider for bugs, errors, minor updates, and approved changes.
- Maintain a structured issue and change register.
- Evaluate whether issues require an immediate legacy fix, temporary workaround, or migration to the replacement platform.
- Support data extraction, field mapping, cleansing, reconciliation, and migration.
- Test and document corrections before business acceptance.
- Support module-wise retirement after successful testing, UAT, and data continuity checks.

FoxPro programming experience is an advantage but is not mandatory. Functional ownership, structured coordination, and migration discipline are more important.

- Software Development Coordination

- Convert approved business requirements into clearly defined development tasks.
- Create requirement references, acceptance conditions, and evidence expectations.
- Coordinate with backend, web/mobile, ERP, and AI-assisted development resources.
- Track dependencies, blockers, planned timelines, actual progress, and correction cycles.
- Follow tasks through development, review, testing, staging/UAT, and verified closure.
- Escalate unclear requirements, scope expansion, security/financial risks, and recurring issues.

6. GitHub & Development Tracking
- Assist in maintaining GitHub Issues, requirement references, Pull Request status, test evidence, correction status, and release notes.




- Understand basic branch and Pull Request workflows.
- Ensure development claims are supported by appropriate code, testing, and review evidence.
- Follow the principle: “No Evidence = Not Done.”
- Understand that coding completion does not automatically mean business acceptance.

7. Testing & UAT
- Prepare test scenarios based on approved requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Perform functional, workflow, permission, negative, exception, integration, web/mobile, and regression testing as applicable.
- Record defects with reproducible steps, screenshots/evidence, expected results, and actual results.
- Retest corrections and maintain closure evidence.
- Support business users during UAT.
- Record approvals, rejections, and pending corrections.
- Verify that software is functionally complete, not merely development-complete.

8. Data Migration & Reconciliation
- Prepare and validate master data such as:
- Products
- Vendors
- Customers
- Employees
- Entities
- Units
- Warehouses
- Tax/HSN data
- Follow a structured migration process:

Extract → Map → Clean → Deduplicate → Validate → Trial Import → Reconcile → Sign-Off → Migrate

- Support migration from FoxPro, existing software, spreadsheets, and other approved sources.
- Identify authoritative data sources and prevent duplication or incorrect overwriting of master and transaction data.

9. Basic Technical Support

Hands-on technical capability will be strongly valued. The candidate should ideally have exposure to:

- SQL queries and basic data validation
- REST API testing
- JSON and data mapping
- Basic Python scripting/automation
- ERP configuration and data import utilities
- Git/GitHub
- Basic Linux/Ubuntu commands
- Server/service checks
- Docker/container awareness
- Logs and basic application health checks
- Backup/version/deployment verification
- Basic web/mobile troubleshooting
- Technical communication with developers

This role is not intended to replace a full-time Software Developer or DevOps Engineer, but technical aptitude is highly valued.

- Server, Environment & Deployment Coordination

- Support DEV, Staging/UAT, and Production environment procedures.
- Maintain deployment records including version/commit, deployment evidence, health status, backup status, and rollback references.
- Coordinate with technical/server teams for incidents and planned maintenance.
- Follow approved procedures for production changes and security.
- Maintain confidentiality of credentials and sensitive technical information.

11. Training & User Adoption
- Prepare user guides, quick-reference documents, SOPs, and training content.
- Conduct or support ERP/software demonstrations and user training.
- Assist users during onboarding and first-level functional troubleshooting.
- Identify recurring user difficulties and convert them into training, UX, or process improvement actions.
- Ensure implemented features are understood and practically usable by business users.

12. AI-Assisted Working
- Use approved AI tools such as ChatGPT/Codex and similar tools for:
- Requirement structuring
- Documentation and drafting
- Research
- Test-case creation
- Data mapping
- Coding assistance
- Troubleshooting
- Validate AI-generated outputs against approved requirements, actual system behaviour, and authoritative data.
- Understand that AI assists execution but does not replace business approval, code review, testing, security, architecture ownership, or financial controls.

Project Work Allocation The role will primarily support the following initiatives:

1. Ishan World Software & ERP Transformation – 65–70%

ERPNext, existing Ishan World platform, requirements, integrations, UAT, migration, rollout, and system control.

2. FHICO Software & Channel Systems – 20–25%

Distributor/dealer systems, surveys, CRM,



mobile/web applications, channel automation, and future system requirements.

3. Upcoming Business Software Projects – 10–15%

Business process discovery, feasibility analysis, process mapping, requirements, prototype support, and implementation as assigned.

Work allocation may change based on business priorities.

Qualifications & Experience

Preferred Education:

- BCA / MCA
- B.Tech / B.E. – CS/IT
- B.Sc. – CS/IT
- MBA – IT / Systems / Business Analytics
- BBA / B.Com with strong ERP/software exposure
- Equivalent practical experience may also be considered.

Experience:

- Preferred: 1–4 years
- Robust freshers with relevant technical/business understanding may be considered.
- Candidates with 4+ years of relevant capability may be considered for a senior-level position.

- Independently document and track defined business requirements.
- Coordinate routine FoxPro issues.
- Support ERPNext configuration, data, and testing activities.
- Maintain GitHub/UAT evidence.
- Prepare SOPs and training material.

By 90 Days
- Own a meaningful set of business-system requirements from discussion through verified closure.
- Support legacy-to-new-system migration mapping.
- Provide reliable status and risk reporting.
- Reduce dependency on undocumented or individual-specific knowledge.
