Arts to Hearts Project is looking for a Book Designer who has a strong eye for design and understands how to turn artwork, text, and ideas into beautifully designed books and publications.

This role requires someone who is comfortable working with multiple book projects, can follow established design directions, and can manage details carefully while working within deadlines.

Experience: 2+ years of relevant experience in book design, editorial design, or publication design.

Key Responsibilities

Design and format books, magazines, and other publications from start to finish.

Create clean, visually balanced, and consistent page layouts.

Work with artwork, images, text, artist information, and other editorial content.

Prepare and organize files according to the required book specifications.

Make corrections and last-minute design changes before files are finalized for print.

Maintain consistency in fonts, colors, spacing, layouts, and overall visual style throughout each publication.

Coordinate with the editorial and internal team to ensure all content is placed correctly.

Keep project information, artist details, corrections, and progress organized using Google Sheets.

Manage multiple projects and meet tight production and publishing deadlines.

What We’re Looking For

Strong understanding of book design, editorial layouts, typography, fonts, color, spacing, and visual hierarchy.





Good working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Affinity, and Canva. Knowledge of Illustrator or other relevant design tools is a plus.

Basic knowledge of Google Sheets and the ability to maintain and update project records.

Understanding of print-ready files, image quality, resolution, bleed, margins, and other basic print requirements.

Strong attention to detail, especially when working with names, artwork information, page numbers, and large amounts of content.

Ability to follow an existing design style while also bringing good design judgment to the project.

Ability to handle feedback, revisions, and last-minute changes without compromising the quality of the work.

Comfortable working under pressure and managing tight deadlines.

Good communication and organizational skills.
