Job Opening: Billing Engineer – Interior Fit-Out Projects

Position: Billing Engineer

Location: Project Site / Office (as required)

Mumbai & Surrounding Region : The Employee may have to travel extensively about 60%-70% of the time at work.

Experience Required: Minimum 5 Years

Industry: Interior Design & Turnkey Interior Fit-Out Projects

Communication : Candidate must be proficient in Written & Spoken English

Work week : 6 Days Work (Mon - Sat) - This is a on-site Job Position and does not fall under Work-from-Home. Ready to travel to different locations for visits etc.

About the Role

Studio Sabr is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Billing Engineer to manage the complete billing cycle of large-scale interior fit-out projects. The ideal candidate should have independently handled project billing from project initiation to final closure, including measurement verification, material reconciliation, vendor billing, and client billing for projects valued at ₹10 Crores and above.

Key Responsibilities

Project Billing & Measurement

Prepare and certify site measurements for all executed works.

Conduct joint measurements with clients, consultants, and contractors.

Prepare and maintain JMRs (Joint Measurement Records).

Verify quantities against approved drawings and site execution.

Track variations, extra items, and scope changes for timely billing.

Vendor Billing

Scrutinize and certify subcontractor and vendor bills.

Verify measurements, quantities, rates, and contractual terms.





Ensure proper reconciliation of work executed versus billed quantities.

Coordinate with procurement and project teams for billing approvals.

Client Billing

Prepare RA Bills, milestone bills, and final bills as per contract requirements.

Coordinate with project managers and clients for bill certification.

Follow up on bill approvals, payment certifications, and recoveries.

Maintain billing trackers and project cash flow forecasts.

Material Reconciliation & Cost Control

Perform material consumption and reconciliation for major materials.

Compare issued, consumed, and balance quantities.

Identify wastage, shortages, and cost overruns.

Support project teams in cost monitoring and budget control.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain complete billing records and supporting documentation.

Ensure all bills are backed by approved measurements and records.

Generate MIS reports on billing status, receivables, vendor liabilities, and project progress.

Support project closure through final account settlement and reconciliation.

Desired Candidate Profile

Mandatory Requirements

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum 5 years of experience in billing for interior fit-out projects.





Proven experience handling projects valued at ₹10 Crores and above from start to completion.

Robust understanding of

Material reconciliation

Site measurements

JMR preparation

Vendor billing

Client billing

BOQ management

Variation and extra item claims

Final account settlement

Technical Skills

Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced level preferred).

Working knowledge of AutoCAD drawings and quantity extraction.

Familiarity with ERP systems and project management software.

Strong analytical and documentation skills.

Preferred Experience

Experience with corporate offices, hospitality, retail, residential luxury interiors, or commercial fit-out projects.

Ability to work independently and coordinate with project managers, procurement teams, vendors, consultants, and clients.

Accuracy and timeliness of client billing.

Reduction in unbilled work and revenue leakage.

Timely certification of vendor bills.

Accuracy of material reconciliation.

Effective tracking and recovery of variation claims.

Successful project closure and final account settlement.
