DBT, Looker, BigQuery - 2 of these 3 are mandatory 1 BI Developer - Overview Our client is looking for a skilled Business Intelligence Developer to join the data and analytics team. This individual will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining BI solutions that drive actionable insights and support strategic business decisions. i.e. designing intuitive, user-friendly dashboards that drive business impact, not just pretty charts. The role demands robust technical skills in database development, data visualization, and integration, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders such as FP&A; leadership and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities • Design and implement data visualization solutions to deliver clear, insightful dashboards and reports.

- Support storytelling through data, enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions.
- Work closely with business teams to capture requirements and translate them into datadriven solutions.
- Ability to take requirements from a discussion to ETL to visualization.
- Define and document KPIs, metrics, and data definitions to ensure alignment across the business.
- Leverage MySQL and NoSQL databases to build robust, scalable BI pipelines and data models.
- Develop, test, and maintain ETL processes, database queries.
- Build scalable, efficient, and reusable data objects and reports with a strong focus on performance optimization, ease of maintenance, and multi-use design to support longterm data and reporting needs.
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across all BI tools and reporting solutions – balancing performance, governance, and flexibility.
- Provide training and support to business users for self-service BI.




- Work independently with US-based business and technology teams.
- Considerable overlap with CST time zone Required Hard Skills and Competencies • BI SME (Looker, Looker Studio, PowerBI, Tableau, etc.) with extensive hands-on experience: 2 o Robust data visualization and storytelling capabilities. o Understanding of user personas (execs vs analysts vs ops) and tailoring dashboards accordingly.
- SQL and Data Warehouse Expertise: o Strong SQL proficiency. o Understanding of data warehouse architecture (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.), partitioning and clustering o Expertise in query cost optimization is a must. o Experience in balancing Looker modeling with upstream ETL/ELT data transformations.
- Adept in requirements gathering, documentation, conducting user-demos.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and language skills.
- Current Stack: MySQL, BigQuery, LookerStudio.

Preferred Skills • Experience with Looker API • Understanding of LookML • Familiarity with PHP and frameworks like Symfony, as well as ORM tools.

- Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Azure Synapse).

Education and Experience • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.

- 10+ years of professional experience • 5+ years of experience in BI development, data visualization, and database integration – with progressive responsibilities • Proven track record of working directly with C-level executives on analytics and reporting needs.
- Exposure to accounting and bookkeeping processes, with the ability to support FP&A; requirements.
- Prior experience in Media & Advertising or related industries.
