Role Description The AWS DevOps Engineer will work full time on-site in Chennai, collaborating closely with development and research teams to design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and managing CI/CD pipelines, automating deployments, monitoring system performance, and ensuring high availability and security of services.

The role involves using infrastructure as code to provision and manage environments, troubleshooting production issues, and optimizing resource utilization. The AWS DevOps Engineer will also contribute to best practices, documentation,



and continuous improvement of operational processes to support VPRC’s research and sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) skills, such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar tools.
- Candidates should possess solid Software Development experience in languages commonly used for DevOps automation (e.g., Python, Go, or shell scripting).
- Candidates should possess hands-on Continuous Integration experience with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.
- Candidates should possess System Administration and Linux skills, including server configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting in production environments.
- Experience with core AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC) and cloud security best practices.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, or Puppet).
- Robust problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and capability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
