Role Overview

NIED is seeking an experienced and technically strong Advanced Automobile Maintenance & Repair Trainer for its Industry 4.0 Skill Development Programme.

The trainer will be responsible for delivering advanced theory and hands-on practical training covering modern automobile maintenance, repair, servicing, diagnostics, electrical/electronic systems, engine and transmission systems, fault diagnosis and workshop practices.

The selected candidate must be capable of independently handling practical training and demonstrating the complete process of inspection, diagnosis, dismantling, repair, replacement, assembly, testing and preventive maintenance of automobile systems.

Practical Training Responsibilities The trainer will personally conduct practical sessions covering:
- Complete vehicle inspection
- Scheduled vehicle servicing
- Engine tune-up and performance checking
- Engine dismantling and assembly
- Engine component inspection and measurement
- Compression and engine-condition testing
- Cooling and lubrication system servicing
- Fuel-system diagnosis
- Brake inspection, servicing and repair
- Clutch inspection and replacement
- Gearbox and transmission inspection
- Steering and suspension inspection
- Battery testing and charging
- Starter and alternator testing
- Wiring and electrical troubleshooting
- Fuse, relay and circuit testing
- Sensor and actuator testing
- OBD-II scanning
- Reading and interpreting Diagnostic Trouble Codes
- Systematic fault diagnosis
- Component replacement and testing
- Post-repair vehicle inspection
- Preventive maintenance procedures
- Workshop tool and equipment handling

Training & Batch Responsibilities The selected trainer will:
- Personally conduct regular theory and practical classes.
- Independently handle assigned training batches.
- Prepare and follow lesson plans, session plans and practical schedules.
- Ensure maximum hands-on exposure for trainees.
- Demonstrate correct use of tools, equipment and diagnostic devices.
- Assign practical exercises and technical projects.
- Conduct written tests, practical assessments and viva.
- Evaluate trainee competency against defined learning outcomes.
- Conduct remedial training for candidates requiring additional support.




- Maintain trainee attendance, practical records and assessment documentation.
- Maintain workshop/lab equipment and inventory records.
- Ensure workshop safety and proper use of PPE.
- Support MIS, reporting and programme documentation requirements.
- Support industry exposure visits and guest lectures.
- Prepare trainees for technical interviews and practical trade tests.
- Coordinate with automobile workshops, dealerships and employers for industry exposure and placement support.
- Support assessments, inspections, audits and programme monitoring visits.

Educational Qualification

Candidates should possess

ITI / Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or another relevant automotive/technical discipline.

Automobile-specific technical certifications and OEM/dealership training certifications will be an added advantage.

Experience

Preference will be given to candidates having relevant experience in:

- Automobile maintenance and repair
- Automobile workshops/service centres
- OEM or authorised dealerships
- Vehicle diagnostics
- Automobile technical training
- Engine and transmission repair
- Automobile electrical/electronic diagnosis
- Skill development/ITI/polytechnic training

Candidates with experience as Automobile Trainer, Master Technician, Diagnostic Technician, Service Technician, Workshop Technician, Technical Instructor or Automobile Service Engineer are encouraged to apply. Essential Competencies The candidate must be:

- Technically strong and hands-on
- Capable of independently diagnosing vehicle faults
- Comfortable with dismantling, repair and assembly work
- Familiar with contemporary diagnostic tools
- Strong in automobile electrical and electronic troubleshooting
- Capable of conducting live workshop demonstrations
- Able to translate technical concepts into practical learning
- Safety-conscious and disciplined
- Comfortable handling trainees and practical batches
- Capable of maintaining training and workshop documentation

Selection Process

Round 1: Virtual Interview

Round 2: Technical Interview / Practical Skill Assessment

Round 3: Face-to-Face Interview at Dehradun The practical assessment may evaluate the candidate's ability to inspect a vehicle, identify faults, use diagnostic equipment, interpret fault codes, troubleshoot systems and demonstrate maintenance/repair procedures.

Joining

Selected candidates should be available to join after 25 September 2026, as per programme requirements.

Pay: Up to ₹40,000.00 per month
