About the Role
This is a QA Engineer role on our Quality Engineering team. You'll be embedded directly alongside a product development pod, owning quality outcomes for that surface area manual testing and automation are not separate functions here; you'll do both.
You'll report to the QA Engineering Manager and work closely with developers, product managers, and your pod as a real partner in shipping quality software, not a downstream checkpoint.
AI tooling has changed what QA can do day-to-day. We expect you to actively use agentic tools like Claude Code, Kiro, or Codex to help generate and maintain tests — you don't need to have architected pipelines from scratch, but you should be comfortable using these tools as part of your daily workflow.
What You'll Own
Your Pod
- Serve as the QA owner for your dev pod — test strategy, automation coverage, and quality sign-off for your team's features
- Grow your automation depth and agentic tooling fluency over time
- Take ownership incrementally as you build trust and track record
Quality Execution
- Write and maintain test cases across manual and automated coverage for your pod's features
- Help ensure shift-left practices, automation coverage, and clear quality gates are part of the definition of done
- Surface quality risks to your dev team and PM early — before code ships, not after
- Track relevant quality metrics for your area: defect leakage, escaped defects, automation coverage, regression stability
AI-Assisted QA Engineering
- Use agentic tools (Claude Code, Kiro, Codex, or similar) to help generate test cases, triage CI failures, and maintain regression suites
- Validate AI-generated test output for correctness — you're responsible for what ships, even when a tool helped write it
- Bring ideas back to the team on ways AI tooling can speed up testing work
Automation & Execution
- Contribute to test plans, sprint readiness,
and release sign-off for your area
- Flag capacity risks and blockers early
Who You Are
Must Have
- 2–4 years of experience in QA or Quality Engineering, ideally in a fast-moving SaaS product setting (daily/weekly/bi-weekly releases)
- Hands-on experience using AI coding/testing assistants (Claude Code, Copilot, Kiro, Codex, or similar) in your day-to-day work
- Solid coding ability — you can read, write, and reason about code, and contribute to or review test automation frameworks
- Experience with both manual testing and test automation — comfortable moving between the two
- Strong communication and partnership instincts with developers and PMs
- Familiarity with shift-left practices — thinking about quality early in the dev cycle
- Comfort with ambiguity — able to take a fuzzy quality goal and turn it into concrete test coverage
Strong Plus
- Exposure to agentic QA workflows — self-healing tests, AI-generated regression suites, automated triage
- Background or interest in AppSec or security tooling (SAST, DAST, SCA, integrations)
- Experience testing AI features — understanding of prompting, output validation, hallucination risks
- Experience working in a pod or squad model with embedded QA
