Role Description
Role Summary
Perform inbound receiving, quality validation, documentation review, material release, and inventory status-control activities in accordance with defined procedures and customer requirements.
The role involves inspecting inbound scanned images and documents to ensure materials are accurately received, traceable, compliant, appropriately segregated, and released or escalated as required, under moderate supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as an individual contributor across inbound receiving, quality inspection, material release, and inventory-control activities under moderate supervision.
- Receive purchase orders, transfer requests, customer inventory, and returns using approved tablet- or system-based processes.
- Validate tracking numbers, transaction types, purchase orders, item and PO lines, quantities, lot/batch numbers, storage requirements, and supporting paperwork.
- Inspect incoming shipments for:
- Identity and quantity
- Packaging condition and damage
- Leakage
- Mixed lots
- Labeling and required markings
- Customer-specific requirements
- Review and categorize inbound documentation, including:
- Packing lists
- Bills of lading
- Certificates of Conformity / Analysis
- Safety Data Sheets
- Other quality records
- Use images, documents, catalog data, purchase-order requirements, and QVR (Quality Validation Record) information to verify product description, manufacturer part number, packaging, lot information, dates, and shelf life.
- Enter and validate manufacture, shipment, packaging, receipt, and expiration dates where required, and escalate unclear or conflicting information.
- Identify and communicate nonconforming, damaged, expired, missing-document, catalog, shelf-life, and quantity exceptions promptly to Quality, Purchasing, Customer Operations, Transportation, IT, or other designated teams.
- Maintain accurate electronic records and comply with segregation-of-duties, customer, quality, safety, and controlled-document requirements.
- Maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers and ensure fulfilment of requirements.
- Work under supervision in Supply Chain / Logistics-related processes.
- Resolve and address day-to-day queries within defined timelines.
- Work on identified issues to standardize and define solutions.
- Implement established policies, procedures, initiatives, and actions as per given guidelines.
- Coordinate with Receiving, QA/QC,
Quality Engineering, Purchasing, Customer Operations, Inventory Control, Transportation, IT/Catalog, suppliers, and customer representatives.
- Escalate issues with concise supporting evidence, including receipt details, notes, images, documentation, and applicable requirements.
- Contribute to SOP adherence, follow-up training, disciplined recordkeeping, and practical process improvement.
- Take responsibility for one or more components of a larger execution plan/project and execute assigned activities within defined timelines.
- Continuously acquire, demonstrate, and enhance working knowledge of the business and functional aspects of the processes being implemented.
- Make a commitment to meeting quality targets and work independently to improve current processes.
