The Assistant Manager, Supplier Quality is responsible for enhancing supplier capabilities to meet Parker-Hannifin’s quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability objectives in BCC region. This role leads APQP/PPAP execution, drives zero-defect culture at suppliers, integrates suppliers into the supply chain, and ensures continuous improvement through robust quality assurance and proactive relationship management.

Location : Pune

- Ensure incoming parts and supplier processes consistently meet customer and Parker standards in line with ISO 9001/IATF 16949 requirements. Represent the company in supplier review meetings and supplier escalations; act as the technical owner for supplier quality issues
- Applies various automotive methodologies and core tools - Production Approval Process (PPAP), Advanced Product Quality Process (APQP), 8D, A3, PPS, etc - to supports problem-solving activities for supplier parts
- Drive supplier corrective action through 8D (SCARs) process - containment, root cause, corrective/preventive actions, verification and closure.
- Develop and execute supplier development plan with risk-based approach to plan to improve quality, capacity and capability of suppliers.
- Performs supplier audits according to supplier development plan in accordance with IATF16949 requirements.
- Liaise with Supply chain to align supplier strategies, change control and commercial decisions with respect to quality requirements. teams to integrate suppliers seamlessly into the supply chain.

- Ensure alignment with internal stakeholders and suppliers on specifications, project timelines, APQP deliverables, and expectations

- Advise and review PPAP Submissions with respect to level required & respond to Supplier/Parker Queries whilst tracking on the PPAP register

- Liaise with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Team and other functional support departments to resolve Supplier quality problems.
- Lead the Supplier development plan: Update, score, and liaise with Supply chain team to drive supplier improvements.
- Plan, Lead, and report supplier audits, maintaining audit records in accordance with Supplier development plan




- Issue and manage 8D reports, track open issues, ensure timely closure of SCARS, verifying the effectiveness of the supplier actions
- Support containment activities with Quality Engineers/technicians; stock sorting & supplier communication
- Support New Product & localization activities with best-practice automotive quality procedures. Reviewing product drawings, Tooling PPAPs and production issues.
- Support internal projects in different areas of business - cost reduction, H&S;, Quality issues, etc. Create a positive and inclusive attitude toward problem solving and resolution within the organisation.
- Liaison with suppliers, customers and other departments.
- Liaison with QA team members from other Parker locations within the EMFE Location.
- Able to lead and influence a project team to use a structured problem-solving methodology.
- STOP processes if EH&S; is at risk.
- STOP processes manufacturing poor quality parts.

Working within a team comprising of Quality Engineers and Quality Technicians.

- Audit scope, frequency, and closure prioritization: Set audit plans (process/product/ESD/special characteristics), rate findings severity, and prioritize closure timelines.

- Escalation and customer communication on supplier issues: Trigger executive escalations with suppliers and coordinate customer notifications when risk of escape exists.

Technical quality expertise

- Ability to interpret engineering Drawings, Specifications, and technical documentation to ensure suppliers' compliance with design requirements and quality standards.

- Proficient in measurement techniques and inspection methodologies to verify product dimensions, Basic GD&T; tolerances & Symbols, and surface finish accurately.

- Capable of conducting Initial Sample Inspection reports ( ISIR )



to validate supplier components against engineering specifications and customer-specific requirements.

- Utilize precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, Digital Height Gauge ( Trimos ) , Vision measurement, CMM ( Coordinate Measuring machines ) , Hardness tester, Surface Tester, Surface contour graph Measurement , Roundness tester to perform detailed Inspection and ensure product conformance .

- Ability to understand raw material standards ( different grades of raw material ) & Metallurgical requirements of technical documents – casting, forging, fabrication, Precision product etc.

- 10+ years of experience in Supplier quality engineering, or equivalent type of role.
- Competent in applying APQP & Core tools (PFMEA, Control Plan, Capability Studies, Gauge R&R;, MSA etc.) and coaching suppliers through their application
- Strong leadership, with an ability to independently lead change in the supply chain in multiple projects
- Competent in reviewing Supplier PPAPs submissions and developing where applicable, maintaining a detailed, analytical approach.
- Able to act decisively under pressure, making timely containment/disposition decisions when delivery is at risk
- IATF16949 Lead Auditor (or equivalent). Automotive background, understanding of automotive milestone / gateway requirements
- Logical problem-solving experience using 8D Is-Is Not, Ishikawa, 5 Why’s, Action Plans, etc.
