Job SummaryThe Housekeeping Incharge is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation throughout the hospital. This role involves supervising the housekeeping staff, managing cleaning supplies, and ensuring strict compliance with healthcare infection control and bio-medical waste management guidelines.Key Responsibilities
- Daily Operations: Oversee the cleaning and disinfection of patient rooms, wards, ICUs, Operation Theatres (OT), OPDs, and public areas.
- Team Supervision: Assign daily duties, manage shift rosters, track attendance, and monitor the performance of cleaning staff.
- Infection Control: Ensure the strict use of correct chemical dilutions and sanitisation protocols to prevent hospital-acquired infections.
- Bio-Medical Waste (BMW) Management: Supervise the secure segregation, collection,
and disposal of medical waste according to government and hospital color-coding rules.
- Inventory Management: Maintain optimal stock levels of cleaning equipment, chemicals, linen, and toiletries, and raise purchase requests timely.
- Training & Safety: Conduct regular training sessions for staff on personal hygiene, safety protocols, and the use of protective gear (PPE).
- Audit & Compliance: Conduct daily inspections and maintain logs for cleanliness audits and quality control standards.
- Complaint Resolution: Address feedback or complaints regarding cleanliness from patients, attendants, and medical staff immediately.
