About the firm

R & D Law Chambers LLP is a boutique disputes and advisory practice based in Ahmedabad. We handle both contentious and non-contentious work, including litigation, arbitration and contract drafting, across civil, criminal, tax, company law and IFSCA matters. We appear before the High Court of Gujarat, the National Company Law Tribunal, and regulatory and adjudicating authorities, including in GIFT City.

We deliberately keep a broad practice rather than a single specialism, so interns see diverse work rather than a narrow slice of it.

About the role

This is an assessment internship. Its purpose is straightforward: to work alongside our lawyers on live matters so that we can assess you, and you can assess us, with a view to absorption into the firm. It is not a certificate exercise.

Day to day, you will read case papers, contracts and statutory provisions; prepare concise notes, chronologies and summaries; assist with document review and issue-spotting; support contract drafting on the non-contentious side; and help build and update our internal knowledge resources, all under supervision. You will support both litigation and advisory work across the areas above.

Essential A passed LLB.



You must currently hold an LLB qualification. This is non-negotiable.

Proficiency in English.

Strong analytical ability and a habit of close, careful reading.

Clear, concise legal writing and sound interpersonal communication.

High attention to detail and good organisation.

Preferred

Cleared the All India Bar Examination (AIBE).

Based in Ahmedabad or a nearby town, given the on-site, full-time nature of the role.

Ability to read and understand Gujarati.

Comfort with, and willingness to learn, AI tools for legal research and drafting. We use these daily, so this weighs heavily in our assessment.

Earlier exposure to litigation, arbitration, tax or commercial law.

Terms

Full-time and on-site in Ahmedabad. Consistent office presence is expected.

Duration up to three months. In practice the assessment usually concludes within four to six weeks.

Nominal stipend of about ₹7,000 per month during the internship.

On absorption at a fresher level, a competitive salary, discussed individually at that stage.
