ACTIVITY COORDINATOR

We are looking for an energetic, dynamic, confident and highly guest-oriented Activity Coordinator to join our team at a newly opening premium resort in Kochi.

This is a highly guest-facing and hands-on position for someone who genuinely enjoys interacting with people, starting conversations and creating memorable experiences. The ideal candidate should be naturally outgoing, enthusiastic and comfortable approaching guests and engaging with them throughout their experience.

The Activity Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and assisting guests with the activities and experiences offered by the resort, including experiences such as boating, kayaking, water-based activities, outdoor experiences, recreational activities and curated Kerala cultural experiences. The person will accompany guests where required, explain the activity clearly, provide necessary instructions, coordinate with the concerned activity team/operator and remain attentive to the guest throughout the experience.

The candidate should be able to communicate confidently with guests, understand their interests, answer their questions and make them feel comfortable and welcomed. The role also involves introducing guests to Kerala's traditions, culture, heritage, local lifestyle and unique experiences in an interesting and engaging manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Coordinate and facilitate the activities and experiences offered by the resort.
- Approach guests confidently and introduce them to the activities available.
- Explain activities, procedures, schedules, inclusions and necessary instructions clearly and professionally.
- Accompany and guide guests during activities wherever required.
- Coordinate with activity operators, instructors, vendors or concerned resort personnel to ensure smooth execution of guest activities.
- Ensure guests receive the necessary safety briefing and understand relevant instructions before participating in an activity.
- Maintain close attention to guest safety, comfort and overall experience throughout the activity.
- Engage guests through friendly conversation and create a warm, enjoyable and memorable atmosphere.
- Encourage guests to participate in suitable activities based on their interests and preferences.
- Introduce guests to Kerala's culture, traditions, heritage, local customs, food,



lifestyle and other authentic local experiences wherever relevant.
- Handle guest questions and requests related to activities professionally and courteously.
- Maintain accurate information regarding activity timings, availability, requirements and applicable charges.
- Coordinate with Front Office and other departments regarding guest bookings, activity schedules and special requests.
- Follow up with concerned teams to ensure activities are properly arranged before the guest arrives.
- Collect guest feedback and communicate relevant observations and suggestions to management.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing activities and recommend new and innovative guest experiences.
- As the resort develops, take increasing responsibility in planning, coordinating and developing the resort's activity programme.
- Stay aware of local attractions, experiences and activities that can add value to the resort's guest offering.
- Ensure activity equipment and related materials under the resort's responsibility are properly maintained, organised and ready for use.
- Maintain professional grooming, behaviour and communication at all times.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Be flexible to work weekends, holidays and evenings according to operational requirements.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT – MANDATORY Excellent communication skills in English and Malayalam are mandatory.

The candidate must be able to confidently communicate with guests in both English and Malayalam, explain activities clearly, answer guest questions and maintain engaging conversations throughout the guest experience.

Hindi will be an added advantage.

Candidates who do not have valuable English and Malayalam communication skills should not apply.

EXPERIENCE

Previous experience in a hotel, resort, tourism, recreation, adventure activities, water sports, guest relations, travel or another guest-facing role will be preferred.

Experience or knowledge related to boating, kayaking, water activities, outdoor recreation or adventure experiences will be an added advantage.

However, we are particularly interested in candidates with the right personality, communication skills, confidence and genuine interest in guest interaction. Candidates from other customer-facing backgrounds who possess the required communication skills and personality may also be considered.

IMPORTANT ABOUT THE ROLE

This is not a desk-based position.

The successful candidate will spend a significant amount of time interacting directly with guests — approaching them, explaining activities, accompanying them where required, coordinating their experiences, answering questions and ensuring that they feel comfortable and well looked after.

We are looking for someone who can confidently walk up to a guest and say:

“Good afternoon. We have a kayaking experience available today. Would you be interested in joining us?”

The candidate should then be able to explain the experience, answer questions, coordinate the arrangements, accompany or guide the guest as required and maintain a friendly interaction throughout the experience.

The initial activity programme will be determined by resort management. However, the selected candidate will be expected to understand guest preferences, gather feedback and gradually contribute ideas for new activities and experiences as the resort develops.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play an important role in building the resort's guest experience and activity programme from the beginning.
