About Vertvista Vertvista Eco Solutions is a biophilic-design and commercial landscaping company operating across Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Gujarat. We deliver indoor plantscaping, green walls, FRP planters, plant rental and annual maintenance contracts for corporate, developer and institutional clients.
Role Purpose Own day-to-day accounting for a multi-city, project-based business: real-time books in Tally, on-time statutory compliance, disciplined receivables and payables, and monthly MIS that management can act on. Work independently, guide a junior, and keep the books audit-ready throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities
1. Books & Billing • Maintain Tally with accurate and real-time entries. • Customer invoicing against PO / WO, e-invoicing and e-way bills; track retention, security deposits and advances per project. • Daily bank reconciliation; petty cash and site imprest reconciliation across cities. • Debit / credit notes and customer ledger reconciliation on request.
2. Receivables • Track receivables project-wise; follow up with clients and update the collection tracker weekly. • Debtors ageing analysis; escalate overdue accounts to management with recommended action. • Reconcile TDS receivable with Form 26AS / AIS and books.
3. Payables • Vendor bill booking with PO / GRN matching; process payments per approval matrix. • MSME vendor day-wise analysis; ensure payment within statutory timelines. • Creditors ageing analysis; vendor ledger reconciliation and balance confirmations. • Verify employee expense claims and site expense sheets; route for approval and settle on time.
4. Statutory Compliance • Monthly GST working,
GSTR-1 / 3B filing, GSTR-2B ITC reconciliation; vendor GST compliance check before payment. • Yearly GST reconciliation and GSTR-9 / 9C filing.
- Monthly TDS working, payment and quarterly returns; issue Form 16A.
- Pay PF, ESIC and PT challans against HR's workings; book and reconcile monthly; advance tax workings.
- ROC compliances and annual filings in coordination with the CA; maintain statutory registers.
- Import documentation and foreign remittances (Bill of Entry, A1/A2 forms) when required.
- MIS & Reporting • Monthly MIS: profit & loss, cash flow, expense analysis, pending POs, and any other information required by management.
• Project-wise costing and budget vs actual tracking; flag margin deviations.
• Weekly cash position and 30-day payment / collection forecast.
- Year-End & Audit • Finalisation of accounts; support statutory and internal audit with schedules and documentation.
• Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation workings.
• Track insurance policies, bank guarantees and security cheques issued / received.
- Team & Systems • Assist and supervise the junior accountant; review their entries.
• Maintain accounts SOPs, filing and document control; drive timely data from site teams.
Requirements • B.Com / CA / CMA preferred.
• 4–7 years' hands-on accounting experience, ideally in contracting, interiors, facility services or landscaping.
- Strong working knowledge of Tally Prime, GST, TDS, e-invoicing and e-way bills.
- Advanced Excel (pivots, lookups, reconciliations).
- Able to work independently, meet monthly deadlines and communicate clearly with vendors and clients. Positive to Have • Exposure to any ERP; Zoho Books / Zoho Projects.
- Multi-state GST and multi-city site accounting experience.
- Experience with project accounting, retention and running-account bills.
