Role & responsibilities

- Maintain day-to-day accounting entries in Tally/ERP, including sales, purchases, receipts, payments, and journal entries.
- Verify and reconcile daily sales and purchase transactions from jewellery stores.
- Perform bank reconciliation and investigate differences.
- Handle GST accounting, GST return workings and filing support, including reconciliation of GST-related transactions.
- Handle TDS entries, TDS return workings and filing-related activities.
- Prepare and verify ledger accounts, trial balance and other accounting reports.
- Monitor cash balances, bank deposits and store cash positions.
- Reconcile store-wise accounts and inter-branch transactions.
- Assist with monthly/annual closing, provisions, outstanding expenses and account schedules.
- Coordinate with auditors and Chartered Accountants for statutory/internal audit requirements.
- Verify supporting documents such as invoices, vouchers, payment records and purchase documents.
- Assist in stock and transaction reconciliation, which is particularly important in jewellery retail.
- Check discrepancies between physical/recorded stock, sales transactions and accounting records.




- Prepare management reports related to sales, purchases, expenses, receivables/payables and cash/bank positions.
- Ensure accounting records comply with applicable GST, TDS and other statutory requirements.
- Guide or review the work of junior accountants/account assistants.

Preferred candidate profile

- B.Com/M.Com or equivalent accounting qualification
- 6+ years of accounting experience for a senior-level position
- Strong knowledge of Tally
- Good knowledge of GST and TDS
- Bank reconciliation and ledger reconciliation
- Knowledge of MS Excel
- Experience with retail/store accounting is practical
- Good understanding of inventory and stock reconciliation
- Ability to coordinate with auditors and multiple branches
- Accuracy and attention to detail, particularly because jewellery involves high-value inventory
