Job Description – Staff Nurse

Position: Staff Nurse
Department: Nursing
Location: KIMS Super Speciality Hospital, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh
Reporting To: Nursing In-charge / Nursing Superintendent

Job Summary

The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and quality nursing care to patients while maintaining hospital protocols, infection-control standards, proper documentation, and coordination with doctors and other healthcare professionals.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

- Provide direct nursing care to patients as per their clinical requirements and doctor’s instructions.
- Monitor and record vital signs, patient condition, intake/output, and other relevant clinical observations.
- Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed.
- Assist doctors during examinations, procedures, rounds, and emergency situations.
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing records, patient files, medication charts, and nursing notes.
- Follow medication safety protocols, including correct patient, medicine, dose, route, and timing.
- Ensure proper handover of patient information between shifts.
- Identify and promptly report any deterioration or abnormal changes in the patient's condition.
- Follow infection prevention and control practices, including hand hygiene and use of PPE.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and proper arrangement of the nursing station and patient-care areas.
- Ensure proper handling and maintenance of nursing equipment and medical supplies.
- Educate patients and attendants regarding medications, procedures, hygiene, diet, and discharge instructions as applicable.
- Follow hospital policies, SOPs, NABH standards, and nursing protocols.




- Maintain patient confidentiality and professional conduct at all times.
- Coordinate effectively with doctors, laboratory, pharmacy, housekeeping, and other departments.
- Participate in emergency response, resuscitation, and other critical-care activities as trained.
- Report incidents, medication errors, patient falls, or other clinical concerns immediately to the concerned authority.
- Perform any other nursing-related duties assigned by the Nursing In-charge or management.

Required Qualifications

- GNM / B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Valid nursing registration with the respective State Nursing Council.
- Relevant hospital experience preferred; freshers may be considered based on organizational requirements.

Working Conditions

- Willingness to work rotational shifts, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays as per duty roster.
- Compliance with hospital uniform, attendance, discipline, and workplace policies is mandatory.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
