About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cybersecurity Engineer to join Neurealm's dynamic security team. This pivotal role involves leading the design, engineering, deployment, and continuous improvement of enterprise security controls and platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing security tools such as EDR, SIEM, IDS/IPS, MDM, and Microsoft 365 Security solutions. As a key technical leader, you will drive initiatives to enhance detection and response capabilities, support SOC operations, and ensure that security controls align with organizational strategy, risk management, and compliance requirements. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the security architecture of a forward-thinking organization, working in a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams to safeguard critical assets.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's or master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years of experience in IT security, with at least 5 years in security engineering, platform administration, or implementation roles, is required. Candidates should have extensive hands-on experience with enterprise security tools such as EDR, SIEM, IDS/IPS, MDM, and Microsoft 365 Security. Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Python,
or similar languages are essential. Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or relevant vendor certifications are highly preferred. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to lead complex security projects, troubleshoot multi-layered security issues, and operate effectively in fast-paced SOC environments. A solid understanding of security frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls is also necessary.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, engineering, deployment, and ongoing enhancement of enterprise security tools, including EDR, SIEM, IDS/IPS, MDM, and Microsoft 365 Security solutions.
- Architect and implement scalable security controls to safeguard endpoints, networks, cloud workloads, identity systems, and critical infrastructure.
- Manage integrations across various security platforms, ensuring seamless operation and data sharing among EDR, SIEM, SOAR, MDM, IAM, and monitoring tools.
- Drive incident detection and response engineering by tuning alerts, developing detection use cases, and creating automation playbooks.
- Oversee deployment and enforcement of endpoint security measures such as DLP, device control, compliance policies, and endpoint hardening standards.
- Collaborate with SOC, Infrastructure, IAM, Cloud, and application teams to ensure effective implementation and monitoring of security controls.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for security events, tool failures, log ingestion issues, and control effectiveness concerns.
- Develop and maintain SIEM use cases, dashboards, reports, and operational metrics to improve monitoring and executive visibility.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, validate scan results,
support remediation planning, and track risk reduction activities.
- Participate in change management processes to assess security impact and ensure controls align with organizational changes.
- Drive automation initiatives utilizing scripting and workflow automation tools to enhance response efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Develop and maintain security baselines, hardening standards, operational guides, and technical documentation.
- Monitor emerging threats and adversary techniques to adapt detection strategies accordingly.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and coaching to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
