Job Description
The ME Configuration Management Specialist is responsible for establishing and maintaining the integrity of manufacturing documentation and product baselines. This role bridges product design and factory execution by managing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Manufacturing Change Orders (MCOs), Bill of Materials (BOM) structures, and manufacturing process configurations. the candidate will also work on the ME Process documents and support shop floor activities as on when required.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace/ Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 3–7+ years in manufacturing engineering, product lifecycle management, or configuration management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Change Control Management: Author, review, and process Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and Manufacturing Change Orders (MCOs). Coordinate cross-functional sign-offs (Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Operations).
- BOM Management: Maintain and audit the Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) to ensure alignment with the Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM) across product variants.
- Baseline Control: Establish, audit, and archive manufacturing baselines (build configurations, assembly instructions, routing, tooling specs).
- Impact Analysis: Conduct change impact assessments to determine effectivity dates, disposition of existing inventory (scrap, rework, use-as-is), tooling modifications, and cost implications.
- Data Integrity & PLM/ERP Synchronization: Maintain master data integrity between Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Compliance & Audits:
Perform regular configuration control audits to ensure shop-floor builds match approved engineering and manufacturing documentation (AS9100 compliance).
- Process Improvement: Develop, implement, and standardize Configuration Management Plans (CMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
