Role Description The P & M (Plant & Machinery) General Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Pune Division. This role oversees the planning, deployment, operation, and maintenance of construction equipment and machinery for highway, bridge, and infrastructure projects. The General Manager will manage asset utilization, preventive and corrective maintenance schedules, spare parts planning, and vendor coordination to ensure minimal downtime and optimal productivity. Daily responsibilities include supervising P & M teams, monitoring equipment performance and costs, implementing safety and compliance standards, and preparing reports and forecasts for senior leadership.



The role also involves collaborating with project managers, procurement, and finance to align equipment resources with project timelines and budgets, and driving continuous improvement in P & M processes and systems.
Qualifications

- Strong experience in plant and machinery management within infrastructure, roads, highways, or heavy construction projects.
- Proficiency in equipment planning, preventive and predictive maintenance, and asset lifecycle management.
- Ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary teams, with skills in people management, delegation, and performance monitoring.
- Competence in budgeting, cost control, and analytical reporting related to equipment utilization and operating expenses.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, statutory compliances, and best practices for operating heavy construction equipment.
- Experience in vendor management, negotiation, and coordination for equipment procurement, rentals, and spare parts.
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems, ERP tools, or digital platforms for tracking equipment and workflows.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification in management is an added advantage.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across project and corporate teams.
- Proven ability to work in office in dynamic project environments and travel to project locations as required.
