About The Role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our Engineering team at Flexton Inc. This pivotal role is crafted for a highly skilled developer who excels in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about modernizing core systems within the financial technology domain. The successful candidate will play a key role in transforming legacy loan verification and bank ingestion pipelines into scalable, resilient microservices architectures. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of backend engineering principles, system design, and distributed architectures, coupled with a proactive approach to coding and problem-solving. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build secure, high-performance APIs and services, ensuring seamless integration and data integrity in high-traffic environments. Qualifications





The successful candidate will have expert-level proficiency in Java and the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JPA. Extensive experience in designing and implementing backend systems within high-traffic, distributed environments is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a strong background in system architecture, microservices, and cloud-native solutions, preferably within GCP or AWS platforms. Hands-on experience with relational databases and NoSQL solutions such as Firestore, Redis, or MemoryStore is required, along with familiarity with messaging systems like JMS and event-driven architectures.

Proficiency with AI tooling, specifically Cursor or similar AI-native IDEs, is highly desirable. Candidates must also have a solid understanding of security protocols, including implementing authentication and authorization at the service level. A proven track record of working in fintech or highly regulated financial environments, along with experience in DevOps practices such as containerization with Docker/Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines, will be considered a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

- System Modernization: Architect and implement scalable, resilient microservices-based backend systems to modernize legacy loan verification and high-volume bank data ingestion pipelines.
- High-Velocity Development: Execute an aggressive coding strategy, prioritizing rapid delivery while maintaining a deep grasp of algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented design patterns.
- AI-Augmented Engineering: Fully integrate AI development tools (e.g., Cursor)



into the daily workflow to maximize productivity and ensure high-quality, optimized output.
- Technical Excellence: Design and maintain robust APIs and services using the Java and Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Hibernate, JPA).
- Distributed Systems: Build and manage event-driven architectures utilizing JMS and cloud-native services.
- Security & Reliability: Implement secure authentication and authorization protocols at the service level to ensure data integrity in a high-traffic environment.
