Role overview
/n
The Lead DBA will own end-to-end database administration, architecture decisions, and operational health across multi-cloud and on-prem environments. This role requires hands-on depth in Oracle and PostgreSQL, strong AWS cloud database skills, and the ability to lead a distributed remote team while managing SLAs and critical incidents.

Key responsibilities
/n
/n
- Own all database activities — provisioning, configuration, performance, backup, patching, and upgrades across Oracle and PostgreSQL environments.
/n
- Lead and coordinate remote DBA team; drive onsite activities and stakeholder collaboration.
/n
- Architect and manage AWS cloud database workloads on RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL/MySQL, and EC2.
/n
- Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks using AWR, ADDM, ASH, SQL Trace, EXPLAIN ANALYZE, and pg_stat_statements.
/n
- Configure and validate backup/DR strategies using Oracle RMAN, pg Back Rest, and pg_basebackup; conduct PITR and DR drills.
/n
- Execute major/minor version upgrades, PSU/RU patching, and cross-platform schema refreshes.
/n
- Automate routine DBA tasks via Linux Shell/Bash, PL/SQL, Terraform, and Ansible.
/n
- Monitor system health via OEM 13c, pg Admin, Cloud Watch, and RDS Performance Insights; respond to alerts proactively.
/n
- Manage P1/P2 incidents, change requests, and SLA adherence via Service Now/Jira.

Qualifications
/n

- B.E. / B. Tech / MCA in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline.

- 5–7 years of hands-on DBA experience across Oracle and PostgreSQL.
/n
- Demonstrated experience on AWS managed database services.
/n
- Oracle OCP / AWS Database Specialty certifications — preferred.
/n
- Strong communication skills; ability to lead distributed remote teams.
/n
- Familiarity with ITSM processes and on-call incident management.
