We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Gas & Utility System Designer based in our Bangalore office. The ideal candidate will have 6 to 8 years of experience specializing in the design and engineering of high-purity gas and utility systems. You will play a critical role in developing distribution systems specifically for contemporary pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities and advanced research laboratories.
This role requires robust technical expertise and a strong commitment to traveling across India to support site execution, surveys, and commissioning phases..
Key Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end clean utility and laboratory gas distribution systems, including high-purity specialty gases, compressed air, vacuum, nitrogen, and clean steam (WFI/Purified Water).
- Develop robust P&IDs;, 2D/3D plant layouts, piping isometric drawings, equipment sizing metrics, and Bill of Materials (BOM) in strict accordance with cGMP standards.
- Travel across India to conduct comprehensive site surveys, coordinate with field engineers, oversee installation quality, and resolve on-site technical clashes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, architects, vendors, and clients to ensure seamless, safe integration of utility piping into cleanrooms and lab environment
Required Qualifications
- Education & Experience: B.E.
or B.Tech in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with 6 to 8 years of core engineering design experience in industrial utility systems.
- Domain Expertise: A proven project portfolio demonstrating successful gas and utility system design specifically for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or research laboratory sectors.
- Mobility & Travel: A high degree of flexibility and willingness to travel extensively throughout India (up to 30–40% of the time) for project lifecycle support.
- Software Proficiency: Hands-on expertise using industry-standard design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or 3D Plant design software (e.g., AutoCAD Plant 3D).
Key Competencies
- Thorough understanding of international and domestic compliance codes, including GMP, GLP,ASME B31.3, ISPE guidelines, and ISO 14644 cleanroom standards.
- In-depth technical knowledge of gas manifold design, pressure regulation logic, gas detection sensors, and sanitary high-purity tubing materials (e.g., SS 316L EP).
- Strong vendor management capabilities to accurately evaluate utility equipment quotes, validate technical specifications, and finalize material selection.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage client interactions, conduct technical reviews, and train site-execution personnel.
