Job Title: SmartComm Developer

Job Summary

n

We are seeking an experienced SmartComm Developer with 6+ years of hands-on experience in SmartComm Platform to design, develop, and support customer communication solutions. The role involves building scalable, high-quality document generation solutions aligned with business and compliance requirements.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

SmartComm

n

Design, develop, and maintain customer communication solutions using SmartComm.

n

Develop and enhance templates, layouts, rules, scripts, and content libraries.

n

Implement batch and real-time document generation solutions.

n

Work with XML, XSLT, and data mapping for document composition.

n

Integration & Technical Design

n

Integrate SmartComm with upstream/downstream systems (CRM, Core systems, ECM, Archive).

n

Develop solutions using SmartComm Designer, Design Manager, and Communications Server.

n

Support document distribution via print, email, PDF, and digital channels.

n

Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, and security standards.

n

Maintenance & Support

n





Perform defect analysis, bug fixes, and performance tuning.

n

Provide production support and handle incident resolution.

n

Participate in root cause analysis and preventive improvements.

n

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

n

Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to understand communication requirements.

n

Translate business requirements into technical designs.

n

Support UAT and production releases.

n

Provide technical guidance to junior developers.

n

Required Skills & Qualifications

n

Technical Skills

n

6+ years of experience in SmartComm/OpenText Exstream.

n

Strong hands-on experience with:

n

SmartComm/Exstream Designer & Design Manager

n

Control Center / Communications Server

n

XML, XSD, XSLT

n

Scripting (JavaScript or Exstream scripting)

n

Experience with document composition, batch processing, and real-time generation.

n

Good understanding of print and digital communication workflows.

n

Tools & Platforms

n

Experience with version control tools (Git, SVN).

n

Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments.

n

Experience with CI/CD pipelines is a plus.

n

Domain & Soft Skills

n

Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance (BFSI) is preferred.

n

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

n

Good communication and documentation skills.

n

Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

n

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

n

Individual role

Nice to Have

n

OpenText certification in Exstream / SmartComm.

n

Experience with regulatory and compliance-driven communications.

n

Exposure to cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
