About Palyt
Palyt is a profit optimization platform for restaurants. It shows restaurants where their money goes, from what each dish costs to make to which menu items earn the most, and helps them act on it. Palyt is built by AI researchers from Harvard IACS, hospitality professionals from The Oberoi Group, and engineers with experience in production AI at early-stage startups.
The company is starting with restaurants in India and is built to support restaurant operators worldwide who work with tight margins.
Palyt's mission is to help restaurants become more profitable.
About the Role The UI/UX Intern will help design and refine Palyt's web and product interfaces, creating clear, intuitive and visually engaging experiences for restaurant operators and their teams. The intern will join Palyt's small, hands-on design team and work directly with the product designer on real product work.
Responsibilities
- Design product screens, layouts and small feature flows
- Design marketing and website pages
- Write clear and easy-to-understand copy for the product and the website
- Conduct basic user research
- Explore design options and iterate on layouts and visual styles
- Gather feedback and use it to improve usability
Requirements
- Comfortable working in Figma
- An eye for clean, easy-to-use design
- Good writing instincts
- A portfolio or sample work (student or personal projects are welcome)
- A basic understanding of front-end development, to work effectively with engineers
- Strong attention to detail and transparent communication
- The ability to take feedback and apply it through quick iterations
Nice to Have
- An understanding of basic UX concepts such as user flows, hierarchy and accessibility
- An interest in how restaurants work
