Job Description – Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech – Electrical Engineering

Position: Electrical Design Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with 8–10 years of experience in electrical design and engineering, preferably with experience in Thermal Power Plants, Combined Cycle Power Plants (CCPP/CCGT), Gas-Based Power Plants, or other Power Generation projects.

Key Responsibilities
Perform electrical design and engineering for power generation projects.
Prepare and review Single Line Diagrams (SLD) and electrical system drawings.
Prepare/review Electrical Load Lists and Cable Schedules.
Carry out cable sizing, transformer sizing and electrical equipment sizing.
Design and engineering of generators, transformers, HT/LT switchgear, MCCs and motors.
Work on switchyard/substation systems and associated electrical equipment.
Perform/review electrical studies such as Load Flow,



Short Circuit, Voltage Drop and Protection Coordination.
Prepare/review electrical equipment datasheets and technical specifications.
Review vendor drawings, technical documents and engineering deliverables.
Coordinate with Mechanical, HVAC, Civil, Piping and Instrumentation & Control disciplines.
Support technical evaluation of electrical equipment and vendor offers.
Ensure engineering deliverables comply with project specifications and applicable standards.

Required Skills
Solid knowledge of power plant electrical systems.
Experience in Thermal Power Plant / CCPP / CCGT / Gas-based Power Plant preferred.
Positive knowledge of:
Generator & Generator Transformer
Transformers
HT/LT Switchgear
Experience in electrical design calculations and engineering documentation.
Knowledge of ETAP or similar electrical engineering software preferred.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
