We're hiring: Junior L1 Voice Support Engineer – SIP, SBC and VoIP

HookZ India Private Limited is looking for a junior engineer with hands-on experience in SIP trunking, VoIP and enterprise voice environments.

n

Location: Chennai or Thanjavur (Hybrid)

n

Experience: 1–2 years

n

Essential requirement:

n

Candidates must have 1–2 years of practical experience supporting or troubleshooting SIP trunks. Applications without relevant SIP trunking experience will not be considered.

n

Key responsibilities:

n

n
- Provide L1 support for AudioCodes and Ribbon SBCs, voice gateways and SIP infrastructure
n
- Monitor SBC health, alarms, availability and SIP trunk status
n
- Troubleshoot failed calls, one-way or no-way audio, call routing, codecs, DTMF and caller ID issues
n
- Review basic SIP traces, packet captures, SBC logs and call detail records
n
- Investigate network, DNS, NTP, firewall, NAT and TLS-related issues
n
- Support Microsoft Teams Direct Routing connectivity
n
- Record and manage incidents in line with SLA and escalation procedures
n
- Escalate complex issues to L2/L3 engineers with complete diagnostic information
n
- Assist with maintenance, configuration backups, upgrades and health checks
n

What we're looking for:

n

n
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, IT, Computer Science, Electronics or a related discipline
n
- 1–2 years of hands-on SIP trunking experience
n
- Good understanding of SIP, SDP, RTP, TCP/UDP, TLS and VoIP call flows
n
- Basic knowledge of IP networking, VLANs, routing, NAT, DNS and firewalls
n
- Exposure to AudioCodes or Ribbon SBCs is strongly preferred
n
- Familiarity with Wireshark and SIP analysis tools
n
- Clear communication, documentation and troubleshooting skills
n
- Willingness to participate in shift or on-call support when required
n

Exposure to Microsoft Teams Direct Routing, Genesys Cloud, NICE CXone, Amazon Connect or Zoom Phone would be an advantage.

n
