About the Role:

We are looking for a GIS Intern to support the development and maintenance of maps using GIS tools such as QGIS / ArcGIS. The intern will work with road-network and spatial datasets, create and update geofences, and assist with various digital mapping and spatial data tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create, edit, and maintain spatial data using QGIS / ArcGIS.

• Work with road-network and map datasets, including large spatial datasets.

• Create and manage geofences and other geographic features according to defined requirements.

• Digitize and update geographic features accurately using satellite imagery, road maps, and other reference data.

• Import and export GIS data in formats such as GeoJSON, Shapefile, GeoPackage, CSV, and other required formats.

• Follow assigned grids/areas and complete mapping tasks within the given requirements.

Required Skills





- Basic understanding of GIS concepts and spatial data.
- Understanding of vector data such as points, lines, and polygons.
- Basic knowledge of Coordinate Reference Systems (CRS) and map projections.
- Basic understanding of attribute tables and spatial relationships.
- Basic knowledge of QGIS or ArcGIS.
- Ability to work carefully with large datasets.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to follow defined mapping and data-editing guidelines.

Good to Have:

• Experience with ArcGIS Online / QGIS.

• Basic understanding of geofencing and road-network data.

• Basic knowledge of Python or GIS automation.

• Experience working with GeoJSON, Shapefile, GeoPackage, or CSV data.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

- Students or recent graduates from Geology, Geography, Geo-informatics, GIS, Geomatics or related fields.
- Candidates with an interest in GIS, digital mapping, geospatial data.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented and comfortable working with repetitive spatial data tasks.
- Willingness to learn new GIS tools and workflows.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
