Human Resources Business Partner
Role Overview:
This role manages the full spectrum of HR activities with a robust emphasis on statutory compliance, employee engagement, talent retention, and building forward-looking people practices. The position calls for a mature HR skilled with the ability to influence culture, partner with leadership, and drive organisational development.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Statutory Compliance
Ensure full compliance with applicable labour laws (PF, ESIC, Gratuity, Shops & Establishment, Maternity, POSH, etc.).
Monitor and manage all statutory registrations, licences, audits, and renewals.
Maintain statutory documentation and coordinate with consultants.
Lead responses for government inspections and ensure closure of observations.
2) Employee Engagement & Culture
Design and deliver structured engagement initiatives year-round.
Conduct pulse surveys and feedback forums; provide action insights.
Champion employee well-being and inclusion programs.
Strengthen organisational culture and communication.
3) Talent Retention:
Oversee end-to-end employee lifecycle activities.
Identify retention risks and take proactive action.
Conduct stay interviews, analyse attrition, and share reports with leaders.
Support development plans, recognition programs,
and internal mobility.
4) HR Operations
Maintain accuracy of HR data, employee files, and documentation.
Manage leave & attendance, HRIS, and payroll coordination.
Support performance management cycles, including goal-setting and evaluations.
Drive timely and compliant onboarding / exit management.
5) Strategic HR & Thought Partnership:
Evaluate HR policies and processes; recommend improvements.
Partner with leadership to align people initiatives with business priorities.
Use HR analytics to drive decisions on retention, productivity, and culture.
Support organisational capability development.
Skills & Competencies:
In-depth knowledge of labour laws and statutory compliance
Solid communication and facilitation skills
Data-driven mindset with problem-solving ability
Empathy, confidentiality, and stakeholder partnering
Ability to manage multiple sites/locations (preferred)
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in HR or related discipline
7 – 10 years of relevant HR experience
Proven exposure to statutory compliance and engagement is essential
Experience in a growing / evolving organisation preferred
