The Mother Teacher plays a vital role in the early development of children by acting as both a guide and caregiver in a classroom setting. She fosters a nurturing and inclusive setting that supports the emotional, social, intellectual, and physical growth of young learners, primarily in pre-primary or primary classes (Nursery to Grade 2). The aim is to provide continuity, comfort, and care by having one main teacher handle most subjects for a single class.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the primary caregiver and educator for the assigned class.
Plan and deliver lessons across subjects such as English, Math, Environmental Studies, and Art & Craft, following the curriculum guidelines.
Create a warm and secure classroom environment that supports student learning and emotional development.
Monitor and track the progress of each child and provide individual attention where needed.
Encourage positive behavior and social interaction among students.
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress, behavior, and any concerns.
Maintain proper records of student attendance, progress reports, and classroom activities.
Decorate and organize the classroom to be engaging and child-friendly.
Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to gauge student understanding and plan remedial actions.
Participate in school events, workshops, and career development sessions.
