:
The Scheduling Migration Subject Matter Expert (SME) candidate will require expertise in the mainframe (z/OS) environment.
The applicant will be required to perform services, migrating batch scheduling products to IBM Z Workload Scheduler and demonstrate problem-solving skills in replacing the scheduling products.
The position requires a person with excellent communication skills and previous scheduler migration experience is a plus.
The candidate must demonstrate a solid working knowledge of IBM Z Workload Scheduling features and functions. They must be able to monitor the workload via the ISPF dialog.
A working knowledge of the Agile Workload Console is an advantage.
The candidate will be required to investigate and analyze report information to draw conclusions regarding migration activities and corrective actions.
There will be a need to write and maintain documentation on these actions and activities.
The position requires you to work as a team member with internal employees, project managers, contractors, and customer employees.
Experience with other Mainframe schedule packages (CA/Broadcom Workload Automation (CA-7, Scheduler, Jobtrac or ESP), BMC Control-M/R, ASG Zeke/Zebb) is desired.
Required Skills:
5+ Years Mainframe (OS/390, z/OS)
5+ Years IBM Z Workload Scheduler experience
Proficient with TSO/ISPF editing.
Excellent understanding of Job Control Language (JCL)
Excellent communication skills
Desired Skills:
REXX Programming experience
Workload Automation Programming Language experience
Solid analytic abilities - studying multiple reports to identify cause and effect.
Experience with other mainframe scheduling products such as CA7, CA-ESP, BMC Control-M, etc.
Agile Workload Console navigation and installation experience
Project Management experience
Additional or Advantageous Skills:
Experience with migrating other Mainframe scheduling tools to IBM Z Workload Scheduler
Basic z/OS System Programming knowledge/skills
Technical pre-sales experience.
System Administration scheduling experience with Open systems (Windows, UNIX, Linux).
