Python Automation Engineer - RDKB / CPE Networking

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior QA / Automation Engineer with a solid background in Broadband, Cable Modem, and Gateway testing. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in networking technologies, hands-on Python automation skills, and the ability to lead a small QA team while driving end-to-end product quality. This role requires close collaboration with customers, development teams, and stakeholders through technical discussions, defect triage meetings, release reviews, and production support activities.

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and execute comprehensive manual and automated test cases for Broadband, Cable Modems, Gateways, and related networking products.
Develop, maintain, and enhance Python-based automation frameworks and test scripts for functional, regression, integration, and network validation testing.
Validate gateway features including
LAN/WAN connectivity
IPv4/IPv6
DHCP
DNS
NAT
Routing
Wi-Fi performance and stability




Perform network, performance, scalability, and stability testing using tools such as Iperf, traffic generators, and packet analyzers.
Diagnose, debug, and troubleshoot issues using Wireshark, tcpdump, SNMP, device logs, and CLI tools.
Validate firmware upgrades, feature enhancements, and bug fixes while ensuring complete regression coverage across releases.
Lead and mentor a QA team of 34 engineers, providing technical guidance, test reviews, and quality oversight.
Participate in customer discussions, defect triage calls, sprint reviews, and release readiness meetings, providing explicit quality metrics and risk assessments.
Collaborate with development, product management, and support teams to ensure timely issue resolution.
Support Hypercare and production activities, including issue reproduction, root-cause analysis, verification of fixes, and deployment validation.
Drive continuous improvements in QA processes, automation coverage, and release quality.
