Role Description The Councillor at ASG Eye Hospital will provide patient counseling and guidance throughout the eye care journey, including pre-consultation orientation, explanation of diagnoses and procedures, and post-treatment follow-up. This role involves clearly communicating treatment options, costs, and next steps, addressing patient questions and concerns, and ensuring a supportive, trust-building experience. The Councillor will coordinate with ophthalmologists, nursing staff, and administrative teams to streamline patient flow, maintain accurate records,
and support scheduling and documentation.
The role also includes promoting hospital services ethically, supporting patient education initiatives, and contributing to a positive, patient-centered environment. This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Pune SHIVAJINAGAR Location.
Qualifications
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain medical information in clear, patient-friendly language.
- Customer service and patient relationship skills, including empathy, active listening, and conflict resolution.
- Basic healthcare or medical terminology knowledge, preferably in eye care or hospital settings.
- Administrative and organizational skills, including record-keeping, scheduling, and coordination with clinical teams.
- Comfort with using computers and hospital information systems for data entry and patient tracking.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment, manage multiple tasks, and maintain attention to detail.
- Fluency in English and local languages used in Pune Division; additional language skills are an advantage.
- Graduate degree in any discipline; a background in healthcare, counseling, psychology, or hospital administration is preferred.
- Prior experience in patient counseling, front office, or customer-facing roles in healthcare is highly beneficial.
- Commitment to ethical practices, respect for diverse backgrounds, and a patient-first mindset.
