Our goal is to build a strong, active user and contributor community through creative campaigns, digital platforms, partnerships, and offline initiatives.

Role Overview

StairlessJourney is looking for a creative, strategic and people-focused Community Growth & Acquisition Intern who can help us grow our user base and build a solid contributor community.

This role goes beyond social media management. The person will be expected to think about where our users can come from, what motivates them to engage, what makes them return, and what can turn an active user into a StairlessJourney contributor.

The ideal candidate should have some prior exposure to community building, social media strategy, marketing, campaigns, growth, psychology, communications, or a related field, and should be comfortable bringing ideas as well as executing them.

This is an unpaid internship offering flexible duration options, creative freedom, and the opportunity to work closely with the founding team.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop creative strategies to attract new users to StairlessJourney
- Identify online and offline communities, platforms, organisations, events and networks where potential users can be reached
- Design and execute campaigns to increase website visits, user engagement and place submissions
- Develop strategies to convert visitors into active users and active users into contributors
- Develop ideas for contributor-focused campaigns, challenges, initiatives and community activities
- Create and contribute to social media strategies across relevant platforms




- Think beyond social media and explore offline, partnership-led and community-led growth opportunities
- Understand user behaviour and identify what motivates people to participate, return and contribute
- Research relevant communities, trends, platforms and growth opportunities
- Experiment with different acquisition and engagement strategies and analyse their results
- Work closely with the founding team to test, refine and scale successful ideas
- Track basic growth metrics such as reach, website visits, sign-ups, active users and contributors
- Help develop long-term systems for contributor engagement and retention
- Coordinate with content, design, outreach and other team members whenever required

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Some prior experience or practical exposure to community building, social media strategy, marketing, campaigns, growth, communications or a related area
- Extremely creative and willing to think beyond conventional approaches
- Strong understanding of how people behave, engage and make decisions
- Ability to think from different perspectives and understand what may motivate different audiences
- Strong strategic and problem-solving mindset
- Ability to turn an idea into an executable campaign
- Good communication and storytelling skills
- Comfortable researching and exploring unfamiliar platforms, communities and opportunities
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of ideas
- Basic understanding of social media platforms and digital communities
- Basic understanding of analytics and measuring campaign performance
- Interest in accessibility,



inclusion and social impact

Preferred but not mandatory

- Background or interest in psychology, behavioural science, marketing, communications or community building
- Experience running a campaign, community initiative or growth experiment
- Experience with Instagram, LinkedIn, Reddit, WhatsApp communities or other digital platforms
- Basic knowledge of content creation, Canva or video editing
- Previous experience working with a startup, student organisation, NGO/social initiative or community

- Flexible working hours
- Remote/online work with occasional coordination or on-ground involvement as required
- Commitment based on agreed responsibilities and ongoing campaigns
