Role purpose
Own end-to-end operations and maintenance of the CBG plant, ensuring secure, compliant, and effective production of biogas and compressed bio-methane, while managing the site team, feedstock, by-products, and stakeholder interfaces.
Role & responsibilities
Plan and oversee daily plant operations: feedstock intake and preprocessing, anaerobic digestion, biogas purification, compression, cascade filling, and dispatch.
Ensure achievement of daily/weekly/monthly production targets for gas, manure/slurry, and other by-products; monitor utility and auxiliary systems.
Implement and enforce HSE standards: LOTO, confined space, work at height, hot work, electrical safety, PPE, fire protection, hazardous gas handling, and housekeeping.
Lead preventive and breakdown maintenance activities; manage spares inventory and coordinate with purchase for critical/long-lead items.
Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance (PESO/CCOE, Pollution Control Board, Fire, Weights & Measures, local authorities)
and support audits and inspections.
Manage site team (operations, maintenance, helpers/contractors), including shift planning, training, attendance, and performance.
Coordinate feedstock logistics, manure/slurry/compost dispatch, and client interfaces as required.
Maintain MIS, daily/weekly/monthly reports, energy and mass balances, and drive continuous improvement (IMS, TPM, Kaizen).
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and PLC/DCS-related issues in coordination with technical teams.
Preferred candidate profile Qualification: BE/B.Tech in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical (Diploma with solid CBG experience may be considered)
Experience: 812 years in plant operations & maintenance, with at least 3–5 years in biogas/CBG or similar process industries (agro-based, power, chemical, oil & gas).
