The Diagnostic Billing Executive is responsible for counselling patients regarding prescribed investigations, preparing accurate estimates, processing billing transactions, verifying corporate and insurance eligibility, and ensuring a smooth patient experience in the diagnostics department.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Counselling & Billing
Counsel patients regarding prescribed diagnostic investigations and explain procedures, preparation requirements, and estimated costs.
Review prescriptions and verify patient details before registration and billing.
Generate accurate bills for diagnostic investigations as per hospital policies.
Provide information regarding test turnaround time (TAT) and reporting schedules.
Register patients in the Hospital Information System (HIS) and ensure accurate data entry.
Coordinate with departments for outsourced investigations and communicate applicable timelines.

Corporate & Insurance Coordination
Verify corporate patient eligibility and supporting documents.
Ensure appropriate billing for corporate and insurance patients as per approved agreements.
Maintain records related to credit billing and corporate accounts.
Assist in resolving billing discrepancies and patient queries.





Customer Service
Address patient enquiries regarding investigations, packages, pricing, and reports.
Ensure a high level of patient satisfaction through effective communication and service.
Coordinate with laboratory, radiology, and clinical departments for smooth patient flow.

Documentation & Compliance
Maintain billing registers, records, and documentation accurately.
Follow departmental SOPs and hospital policies.
Ensure proper handover during shift changes.
Support audit and quality compliance activities as required.

Qualification
Any Graduate / B.Com / BBA / BHM / MHA / MBA (Healthcare/Hospital Administration preferred)

Experience
1 to 4 years of experience in Diagnostic Billing, Hospital Billing, Front Office, or Healthcare Operations.

Required Skills
Knowledge of hospital billing processes.
Experience in diagnostics or laboratory billing.
Valuable communication and patient counselling skills.
Familiarity with HIS software and MS Office.
Knowledge of corporate and insurance billing processes.
Solid attention to detail and documentation skills.
