Job Description – Safety Engineer (E&I; EPC Project – Mundra Site)

Position: Safety Engineer

Location: Mundra Site (Gujarat)

Department: Project – Electrical & Instrumentation

Reporting To: Project Manager / HSE Head
Role Overview

The Safety Engineer will be responsible for ensuring implementation of all safety standards and statutory compliance at site during execution of Electrical & Instrumentation works. The role focuses on hazard identification, risk mitigation, and ensuring a safe working setting for all personnel.
Key Responsibilities

A. Safety Implementation
Implement project-specific Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) plan
Ensure compliance with company safety policies and client requirements




Monitor secure execution of E&I; activities such as:
Cable laying, termination
Panel installation
Instrument installation and calibration

B. Hazard Identification & Risk Control
Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Risk Assessment
Identify unsafe conditions and take corrective actions
Ensure implementation of permit-to-work (PTW) system

C. Site Safety Monitoring
Carry out regular site safety inspections and audits
Ensure proper use of PPE (helmet, gloves, harness, etc.)
Monitor work at height, confined space, and electrical safety

D. Training & Awareness
Conduct toolbox talks and safety training sessions
Educate workforce on hazards and protected work practices
Maintain training records

E. Incident Management
Report and investigate accidents, near-misses, unsafe acts
Prepare incident reports and recommend preventive actions
Ensure closure of safety observations
