Description
We are in search of a Mechanical Design Engineer with a solid background in design engineering. The candidate will provide engineering solutions to a diverse range of complex technical problems throughout LLE. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of machine component design, materials, knowledge of manufacturing processes and experience with complex mechanical systems. Experience in opto-mechanics, precision mechanics, tool and fixture design, high vacuum systems, heat transfer, cryogenic design principles, motion control, and/or precision metrology is desired.
Key Responsibilities
Develop conceptual and detailed designs of mechanical parts and assemblies based on project requirements.
Provide supporting safety and engineering analyses as required.
Prepare materials for engineering design reviews.
Prepare technical drawings in compliance with industry standards.
Work both independently and as a part of a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications
BSME with 8 yrs experience or graduate engineering degree with 6 years industry experience.
Proficient with CAD software, Siemens NX preferred.
Proficient with FEA software, ANSYS preferred.
Competent with enterprise class PDM or PLM software, Siemens Teamcenter preferred
Proficient in documentation
Solid verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate research findings and project progress to internal and external stakeholders within the Siemens ecosystem.
