Internship – Merchant Operations & Account Management

Role Overview

n

We are looking for an Intern – Merchant Operations & Account Management to support our Pay-by-Link, PayLater, and CMP business initiatives. The intern will work closely with the business team to manage merchant operations, onboarding, issue resolution, and account management activities.

n

This role is ideal for a candidate interested in FinTech, digital payments, affordability, merchant management, and business development.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
Support day-to-day Pay-by-Link operations and merchant coordination.
n
Assist in managing the PayLater merchant portfolio and maintaining regular communication with merchants.
n
Coordinate and track merchant escalations, ensuring timely resolution and closure.
n
Support merchant onboarding activities, including coordination for bank TIDs, implementation, and activation after commercial closure.
n
Coordinate with internal teams to resolve EMI, payment, transaction, and onboarding-related issues.
n
Assist in maintaining merchant data, trackers, reports, and operational MIS.
n
Support the team in identifying and engaging with potential PayLater merchants across segments such as EdTech, Travel, and other digital businesses.

Assist with merchant follow-ups, relationship management, and business growth activities.
n
Support the team in tracking merchant performance, payment link volumes, and business metrics.
n
Gradually take ownership of selected merchant accounts and support ongoing Key Account Management activities.
n
Coordinate with internal stakeholders such as Product, Operations, Technology, Risk, and Finance for smooth merchant execution.

Qualification & Skills

n

n
Experience: Freshers / 0–1 year of relevant internship or work experience.
n
Candidates having completed MBA/PGDM will be preferred.
n
Interest in FinTech, Payments, Affordability, SaaS, or Digital Commerce.
n
Positive communication and interpersonal skills.
n
Comfortable interacting with merchants and internal stakeholders.
n
Strong follow-up and coordination skills.
n
Good working knowledge of MS Excel/Google Sheets.
n
Ability to analyse basic business data and prepare reports.
n
Solid ownership, willingness to learn, and ability to work in a fast-paced workplace.
