Job OverviewThe Eligibility & Perks Verification Specialist is responsible for validating patient insurance coverage, identifying out-of-pocket costs (copays, deductibles, coinsurance), and determining if prior authorizations are required. This proactive role directly prevents insurance claim denials and accelerates the billing cycle.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
Insurance Verification: Review and verify patient insurance validity, policy effective dates, and network status (in-network vs. out-of-network) prior to appointments.
Perk Breakdown: Calculate exact patient financial responsibilities, including deductibles, maximum out-of-pocket limits, coinsurance, and copayments.
Multi-Channel Outreach: Navigate insurance provider web portals (e.g., Availity, NaviNet), use Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems, or call insurance representatives directly to get complete benefits profiles.
System Documentation: Input detailed, structured notes regarding coverage, policy limitations, and coordination of benefits (COB) into the Electronic Health Record (EHR)

Pre-Authorization Identification: Flag procedures that require referrals or prior authorizations and coordinate with the authorization team to prevent care delays.
Discrepancy Resolution: Identify inactive policies, coverage overlaps, or mismatched demographic data, and communicate anomalies to the front-desk or patient access teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 1–3 years in
